Jez Hellard collects not only songs and musical influences but he has a knack for collecting the musicians that go with them. He loves to collaborate and this has led him to develop a repertoire for which the term ‘eclectic’ just doesn’t do justice. Jez will be hot footing it from the Cambridge Jazz Festival to join us for Bedfringe. Along with his usual collaborators, Jez has invited Fiona Fey and her Incisive Alt-Folk songs and ornate Chamber Pop that brings a witty charm and a critical gaze to the sublime, the political, and the ridiculous. “Jez has the type of voice that impels you to listen. What to expect: the town’s best female blues vocal and one of the most respected guitar players join forces to deliver a set of recently recorded original songs. Fran is a Bedford based blues singer with a lot of soul. Recently signed by London record producer Nigel Freida, Fran has just finished her second album, mostly written by accomplice and local legendary guitarist Pete Bonas. The duo will be showcasing their original material.
