Our museum takes you on a journey through the remarkable life of Bedford’s most famous son, John Bunyan. Explore his story through scenes of his life, from a 17th century childhood to his imprisonment for refusing to change his faith; spot objects he owned, used and even made; and learn more about the books his experiences inspired him to write, including his most famous work: The Pilgrim’s Progress.

We’ve got an exciting year ahead of us as we continue our anniversary celebrations in 2022. The museum turned 75 last year and this year is the 350th Anniversary of the purchase of the land on which Bunyan Meeting stands.

Look out for our special celebratory exhibition and our Crafty Thursday family activities throughout the year.

We’re open 11am-4pm, for Saturdays only from 15th January until February Half-Term, when we’ll be open Tuesday- Saturday from 15th February.
