On our walk down to The Split Chimp the weather; which had become almost sunny; descended into drizzle. So we were pleased to enter the converted railway arch: for more than one reason. Sadly, they no longer have the skittles alley on the mezzanine floor above. Ho hum. If “life can’t be all beer and skittles”; at least it can still be all beer: in this case Three King’s Brewery’s “Clever Chimp 2 session blonde 4% (hopped with Chinook and Cascade)”. This just left time for the final First and Last Brewery’s “Reiver”; a best bitter at 4.2%, which was as good a beer to finish our hunt on as any.

After brisk walk to the station we find our train waiting for us (admittedly with 15 minutes to departure.). Riding back (obligatory pictures of people sleeping being taken and “shared”) we consider the various stations. Now York and Grantham we know; but as Bar Hunters we wonder, what might it be like in Durham... Darlington... Northallerton... Doncaster... Newark on Trent.
