Book grants

Last year the Commonwealth Foundation awarded a grant to IBRA, so that a small collection of books could be presented to ten selected centres in India and Kenya that specialize in apiculture or apicultural research.

This is splendid news, and will help to fill one of the greatest needs for the development of apiculture in the tropics: access to up-to-date reference material. There are larger collections of books and journals at the three Branches of the IBRA Library:

Africa - IBRA, Nairobi, Kenya

for Tropical Asia - Central Bee Research Institute, Pune, India

for Eastern Asia - Institute of Honeybee Science, Tamagawa University, Tokyo, Japan
