Funding opportunities
The Beit Trust www.beittrust.org.uk
Applications for grants are considered on merit. Trustees do not often give grants to government organisations and do not fund “start-ups”. Instead, they support established, independent institutions, in particular schools, hospitals and health centres. Trustees seek to maintain, as far as possible, an equitable distribution of grants between Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi. Next deadline, 31 May 2023
The Segal Family Foundation
www.segalfamilyfoundation.org
Organizations that are more likely to be considered for a grant are small and early stage, have an annual budget ranging between $10,000 and $500,000, can demonstrate at least one full year of operations and successful fundraising to support such operations. They must have paid staff as well as a board of directors or advisory committee. They must be legally registered as a non-profit organization in the country of operations. Please Note: We do not provide funding to create new organizations. We do not support solely research or advocacy-based organizations. We do not support local affiliates of international organizations. We do not fund individuals.

Paper copies
We recognise the importance of providing paper copies of Bees for Development Journal. In recent years international mail delivery has become hugely expensive, as well as sometimes unreliable. We have therefore established BfD Journal Distribution Hubs, where paper copies are available, free of charge, in co-operation with the organisations below.
Ethiopia: Bees for Development Ethiopia, Bahir Dar
Ghana: Bees for Development Ghana, Saltpond
India: Keystone Foundation, Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu and Under the Mango Tree (UTMT) Society, Mumbai
Nigeria: Modern Beekeeping Extension, Kano State
Rwanda: Beeautiful Creations, Muhanga
Trinidad & Tobago: BfDJ T&T Hub, Mesopotamia,
Uganda: The Uganda National Apicultural Development Organisation (TUNADO), Kampala
Zimbabwe: Working for Bees, Rusape
Printed copies of BfD Journal will be handed out at local and national beekeeping events and are freely available for pick-up.
If you are in any of these countries and would like printed copies of BfDJ, please email info@beesfordevelopment.org We continue to work with our partners in other countries and regions to establish more Hubs and will provide details as these are confirmed.
Please contact us if you wish to help with distributing the Journal by becoming a Hub. Paying subscribers will continue to receive BfDJ by post.
