HIGH HOLY DAY 2011 VOLUNTEER AND STAFF REQUIREMENTS
The Beit Rayim Youth Department is currently preparing for the High Holy Days. As part of this preparation, we are looking for young adults in grade 12 or older to fill our paid positions and teens in grades 9 to 12 to fill our volunteer positions. This year we are looking to hire a set number of staff/volunteers to fill a limited number of positions. Staff Position Descriptions
Education Supervisor You are responsible for all educational programs for the youth. You will be responsible for assisting the Youth Director and Program Supervisors with running all activities (excluding Junior Congregation) in a fun and educational manner. You are responsible for running educational programming, as outlined by the Youth Director, in each of the rooms that is appropriate for the age group. You may also be asked to assist the Youth Director with other youth related duties. Program Supervisor (Tot and Junior Congregation) You will be overseeing the team of volunteers in each of the assigned rooms. You are responsible for ensuring that all of the programming is following the specific structure as outlined by the Youth Director; crafts and games are organized and fun, assisting the Education Supervisor as needed. You are responsible for ensuring children have a washroom runner (of the same gender) when they need to use the washroom, all children are having fun and remain safe and acting as a mentor for all volunteers assigned to you. You may also be asked to assist the Youth Director with other youth related duties. Cell Phones/Electronic Devices Please note that cell phones/electronic devices cannot be used in shul during the High Holy Days. Any volunteers caught texting, phoning, playing games, taking pictures, listening to music or using their phones/electronic devices for any reason will be asked to leave their position immediately and will not be given credit for any volunteer hours or payment earned performed.
I understand the above responsibilities and agree with all aspects of the above application. I understand that use of cell phones/electronics devices during the High Holy Days at Beit Rayim will result in my dismissal from my position and I will lose any earned payment. You may be responsible for helping to run programs in your designated room, ensuring kids are occupied and having fun, keeping the room clean and quiet, and making washroom runs. During Junior Congregation, Program Volunteers are expected to attend the entire service and help to maintain quiet and cooperation of all youth from your room. Hallway Monitor You are responsible for keeping the noise levels in the hallways and doorways at a moderate level. You will also ensure that children are not left unattended and assist in supervised washroom visits. Cell Phones/Electronic Devices Please note that cell phones/electronic devices cannot be used in shul during the High Holy Days.
