BEIT RAYIM YOUTH PROGRAMS KINDER KIDS (JK to Grade 2) YELADIM (Grade 3-5) The Yeladim and Kinder Kids programs often follow Sunday Hebrew School classes, allowing parents to drop their children off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon after a full day of learning and fun**. Activities include; arts and crafts, ceramics, science, bowling, swimming, magic shows, concerts and more! We try to co-ordinate these activities around the Jewish Festivals and Holidays such as Sukkah decorating, Purim mask making and even a chocolate seder! **Lunch is available 12:30-1:30 PM for a small fee and programs run 1:30-3:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

KADIMA (Grade 6 - 8) This program provides young teens and pre-teens a chance to mix socially in a positive Jewish environment. Jewish activities and social activities are geared to the unique needs of this inbetween age. We sometimes join with other youth groups such as our USY chapter for special events. Involvement of our children in the Kadima program is extremely important in encouraging our youth to remain connected to the Synagogue and their cultural heritage. There are “city wide” programs, where Kadimaniks will get together for larger scale activities including a regional Shabbaton weekend. The city wide and regional programs are under the ECRUSY umbrella and all Beit Rayim Kadimaniks are automatically members of the ECRUSY Kadima program. Social activities include: sports, arts and crafts, movies, sporting events, tubing, rock climbing, laser tag and even a sukkah hop.

BRUSY (Beit Rayim USY) (Grades 9 through 12) An exciting youth group for high school students. USY is run by an elected student executive that is responsible for all programming under the direct supervision of USY advisors. Some activities will raise Jewish issues challenging today’s youth such as our very popular “Rumble with the Rabbi”, some encourage participation in the Jewish community, while others are great social events planned just for them. Activities include; dances, regional Shabbaton weekends, discussion groups, community outreach projects, and sports such as swimming and skating parties, tubing, bowling, movies, theater outings and a USY Sukkah hop! In the past some of our USY’ers have participated in the USY International Convention. BRUSY members also take part in social action programs. As an example of their involvement, during March Break 2006 a group from our synagogue traveled to New Orleans with other ECRUSY members to work with the National Relief Network, rebuilding homes that were severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Members have also participated in USY sponsored trips to Israel during the summer. The Beit Rayim USY chapter has won many regional awards including, most recently, Best Social Action Program and Chapter of the Year. Our programs are always fully supervised and under the direction of our Youth Director. Kosher lunches are available for an additional cost. Additional costs may apply to some special programs.
