HOTEL PATINA

Hotel Patina brings nature to the city by offering a unique outdoor experience inside and out. Approaching the front, the patinad leaf faรงade of a complex perforated wall envelops the building, and an alternate view in the back of the ground floor offers a similar experience with a natural vine overlay on glass. As the viewer walks inside, the experience of being surrounded by trees is created as large trunks cover the walls, and bark and branches adorn the interior. In addition to this forest like interior, the experience of the dappled light through leaves is created through the front curtain wall.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG HQ STUDY ANALYSIS

The Diane von Furstenberg building, redesigned by Work AC, is located in the Meatpacking District of New York City and serves as a flagship store, headquarters, and private residence. This project consists of case studying the building incorporating proportional analysis and an unfolded floor plan with unfolded sections. The challenge was to redesign the VIP room and relocate it in an area where it could receive more natural light and be more accesible to the consumer.

BASEMENT

The Vip room located in the basement was switched with the conference room in the 1st floor in order to make it more accessible and bring more natural light. The interior of the VIP room was also redesigned to allow the use of new materials that collaborate in the lighting concept.

REBIRTH OF THE BATH HOUSE

Inspired by Richard Serra this project features tall heavy walls that curl around each pool, giving the people a sense of opened and enclosed space as they get into the water. Once in the water they will be able to experience the concrete rough surface above as well as the water environment in the bottom.

INTERIOR OF POOL TUNNEL

SECTION A

Once in the water people will be able to experience the concrete rough surface above as well as the water environment in the bottom. The pools’ bottom will carry an upside down cone shape that will give people the feeling of a more enclosed space. This cone will be conected to the natural springs under the building in order to bring that water up.

CONCRETE - A double sided WATER - It divides the space above form that creates volume / space. and underneath by creating a different environment in both sides.

CHAUSSURES

Inspired by the glamorous life on a red carpet, this retail HQ features couture shoes for women. The building is programed with 6 floors, each spacedplanned accordingly in order to create a comfortable work environment. The retail area will remain on the first floor, the next floors are arranged in order of productivity when creating new shoe merchandise. The materials of the project will be very reflective, and white, with red carpet accents through out the building, and as much natural light as possible. The areas remain opened in most places in order for people to have more effective collaboration. The furniture is minimal and most of the displays are hanged. Recessed shelving is used to optimize space.
