“Inside the Box” Innovation Featuring Dr. Jacob Goldenberg, co-author of Inside the Box: A Proven System of Creativity for Breakthrough Results
“INSIDE THE BOX” INNOVATION TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18 UNC CHARLOTTE CENTER CITY CAMPUS
Join Jacob Goldenberg, co-author of Inside the Box: A Proven System of Creativity for Breakthrough Results, for this hands-on session based on pioneering academic research into the creative process. Innovative solutions have an underlying logic that can be defined and taught to others. Better and quicker innovation happens when you work inside your familiar world (inside the box, if you will). Dr. Goldenberg’s work has been featured in the New York Times, Wall
Street Journal, Boston Globe, BBC News, Herald Tribune, The Economist, and Wired magazine. This one-day program will help participants generate creative solutions to problems – solutions that are both novel as well as useful. Each session provides a short conceptual framework followed by an introduction of practical tools and a workshop where the tools can be applied. These tools, derived from Goldenberg’s research, have been used by hundreds of corporations throughout the world, including industry leaders such as Johnson & Johnson, GE, Procter & Gamble, SAP and Phillips.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Today’s business leaders cannot rely on serendipitous innovation to remain competitive. Instead, successful innovation relies on the ability to innovate “on demand.” Key takeaways are:
Executives and senior-level managers who are responsible for strategic innovation and new product development. This program is especially effective for organizations that wish to send a cross-functional team to work on a specific challenge or project together.
• A toolkit to tackle marketing challenges more creatively, by generating product-centered as well as market-centered insights • Learn the art of persuasion to help identify support for innovation
within the organization • Strategies to put an end to self-imposed roadblocks and achieve full creative potential In addition, Jacob Goldenberg, co-author of “Inside the Box,” teaches techniques in the program that he and his co-author, Drew Boyd, derived from research – techniques that form the basis for Systematic Inventive Thinking, or SIT, now used by hundreds of corporations throughout the world.
