LAID OUT IN luxury

Interior designer, Holly Volpe, teams up with luxury bedding brand Eastern Accents to makeover your bedroom

By Jennifer DeCillis

Your bedroom should be a place of relaxation, comfort, and solace. The haven for the essential ritual of rest, the bedroom is a sanctuary, and that begins with its design. Designing the different rooms in your home can be a fun way to reinvent your space and breathe life into its otherwise timeworn aesthetic, especially following the past few months of being confined inside.

Interior designer, Holly Volpe of Holly Volpe Interior Design, decided to put her expertise to the test and mentor a group of BELLA readers in redesigning their own bedrooms. As Holly says, “a great night’s sleep starts with a well-made bed.”

The Laid Out In Luxury Bedroom Design Challenge commenced in the early fall of 2020 and spanned eight weeks, encouraging first-time, would-be designers to revamp their spaces utilizing Holly’s blueprint, advice, and weekly guidance. The participants, all amassed into a community Facebook group, shared their progress and encouraged one another, alongside Holly, who checked in weekly with live updates and answers to pertinent questions.

Aside from design expert advice and a feature in BELLA Magazine, the final winner(s) of the Laid Out In Luxury Challenge were also gifted luxury bedding from Eastern Accents. These lavish bedding sets are not only beautiful (beaucoup bucks worth of beautiful!), they are also highquality, customizable, and available in virtually any color or pattern to perfectly accent your aesthetic with a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

In the spirit of giving, and as an added bonus in participating in our first ever interior design challenge, Holly even decided to gift two winners with their choice in Eastern Accents bedding sets. All of the participants worked diligently in designing their spaces, sharing ideas, and investing in this project—but two women were truly dedicated to mastering the art of interior design.

One of the winners, Danielle Woolley, says of her experience, “our bedroom is our favorite room in the house and I always thought it was missing something but couldn’t quite figure out what. Through this challenge, I discovered we didn’t need to add much, and actually wound up removing some things and making some minor changes to make us love the room even more and feel more relaxed when it is time to go to bed. I loved the feedback, inspiration, and guidance of the group and the way everything was broken down into small weekly challenges. The weeks flew by! I am using what I learned and taking the inspiration into other rooms in my house, so thank you!”

Fellow challenge winner, Nicole Abbott-Peretz, shared that the Laid Out in Luxury Challenge was incredibly motivating and fun. “It was great to have a timeline for the redesign process, and Holly provided many great design suggestions for the room. I especially enjoyed seeing what others were doing with their spaces!”

The Eastern Accents bedding sets that Danielle and Nicole chose, along with many other Eastern Accents pieces and sets, can be found in Holly’s very own boutique, The Shop. The Shop by Holly is a destination boutique for home decor, accessories, gifts and more. The Shop features a vibrant hub of color, pattern, and texture, so you can explore the possibilities of interior design and bring your vision to life.

Holly is diligent about keeping selections and products fresh, new, and well styled. She hand-selects and creates all displays of furniture and décor, filling the store with vignettes in every nook and cranny.
