Bizz, Buzz, Bizz Swiftly fleeting in the air tearing, breaking bristles as they pass brainwashing and befriending, bizz, buzz, bizz. Benevolent bushes provide food so no one has to loot the boot carry on with their bestowing business, bizz, buzz, bizz. A brush in the night or day. A seemingly still second. Vibrant, bright lights and memories, bizz, buzz, bizz, those butterflies amidst.

THE LEAK

Drip, drop. The beat of the leak. Water flow, through rusty pipes, through blood filled veins. The sheets are soaked, with distraught inhabitants whose chances are meek. Pitter, Patter, there goes the leak. You wake up at night. You cannot heed, Why is your forehead dampening?

It’s not your sweat, its just the leak. Pitter, Patter. Go to sleep.

The Cycle

6

Relaxation and Rejuvenation. The purr of a drowsy cat, halted by Beep! Clang! Bang! The sound burns through skin like blue fire. Hunger and Uneasiness. The anxiousness of a growling lion, indulged by Twinkle! Jangle! Chime! Begins the race of the weakest. Energy and Speed. Bottles up under the mane, freed by Swoosh! Sweep! Howl! But is it freedom? The cycle returns‌

I have run away. my old house drowned my spirit with sopping sorrow, my legs have carried me, to a lake teasing me with joyfulness, but the rocks blatantly see through me and the meadows gleam with merriness. So I have run away. The forest whispered to my thoughts. What secrets do they hide? My dreams have outnumbered me, Must Run Away...

gone

I can feel it, my expression is grave, insecurities make me concave. At the blink of an eye, be sure not to cry, because I’ll be gone, before you can yawn. Of me you will not hear, for over a year. Will I be invisible? Nah, I’m invincible.

The Nightmare

12

Wind blows and glazed leaves rustle. Ice skates glide crisply on the rink. Cold bodies whisper into steamy cups. Scents of dying chestnuts and Christmas pines surround. Umbrellas slip out of innocent hands. Cries of alarm burst out in union. Fear reeks from horrified faces. The nightmare, the horror, the tremor. Enclosed by a monsoon, I knew the moon would come soon.

Simile/Metaphor

The Move

14

Secrets bottled up, thrown into the ocean. The glass cracks, like the floor of a volcano. Memories drip into the salty water, like tempting fish bait.

Old life is a bubbling flame. Last farewells, fade like falling dust. The City of Lights has burned out. Hello to this electric fire. In with the new.

Ice Cream

Smoother than a flake. Is it cake? no! Chill, burr, crisp. This won’t give you a lisp. Too cold to the lips… I’d rather have some chips. Ow! My teeth are aching.. I feel like i’m breaking. A dash of cream, but not so lean! yum! A dash of ice, don’t give it to the mice!

17

Mood

Electric Thoughtless Strolling slyly in, Oops! I just tore those cables now I’m dancing on the tables! In another blurry land: vibrant colors, bright lights, no frights. How did I get here? Well, cheers!

18 Thoughtful Clambering in, No! Stay away from danger, try not to stir. Witnessing the partygoers: gray spaces, exposed skin, no grins. Now I’m home, all alone. Out of the zone.

Allusion

The Kardashians Open up a magazine. You’ll see the three. Heels farther than outer space, they’ve developed a new race. Plastic figurines, looking like a Barbie. Black hair, blonde hair. Fame that reached up to there. Reality TV, movies. Look in your chair, they are everywhere...

Hyperbole

22 22

Homework I slug home, groan, groan. Ten pounds of work on my back, later tonight I’m just gonna crack. Stalling till I’m too tired, at least I can’t get fired! What do these words mean? I’m sure these teachers have a scheme. Tomorrow I’ll still be dreaming. This is a monstrosity.

Firework

Dos’t thou ever feel like an old bag Wrinkled, saggy so light soaring through the air Are thou underground to hear you nag Thou spark ignites like a glistening flare Thoa are not devoid pf space that is waste The future cannot be told on this day Greatness is something thou will often taste Storms may come and rain but rainbows will stay Roas lead to doors that open new portals Thy heart will gleam ike bright pyrotechnics Explosions in the sky like immortals Stop watch goes off my heart boom boom boom tick Thou spirit is sparkling like a hidden gem The world will know thee and awaken
