With great pleasure, I welcome you to our 14th Annual Bull & Female Sale, March 9 at the farm! Again this year we are pleased to be able to present another impressive group of herdbull prospects and replacement heifers! What a year it has been, we have been very fortunate to take off the biggest crop of hay and grain in all our years operating! This set of bulls consists of rugged, deep, soggy, loose hided, and structurally correct individuals with a ton of muscle, capacity, and the ability to go out and work in any environment they are thrown into. We feel that this is strong representation of our breeding program and we strive to provide the best possible genetics to our customers. While looking at the offering of cattle we have assembled this year, there is defiantly something for everyone. I feel that this is the most exciting group of bulls that we have ever had. Whether you are looking to add performance to your cows, or needing a calving ease bull to go and work in your heifer pen, we will be able to satisfy your bull needs. As we look to the Fullblood side of things in the sale offering, we start up with probably one of the strongest Fullblood bulls to ever be born on the farm, Anchor D True Grit and the G-Seven Pol Rocket bloodlines have crossed very well for us and we are extremely excited with what they have produced in Lot 1. As we go into the group of reds, we feel that these are the most consistent group of reds that we have ever produced. They are deep in quality from top to bottom! Sired mostly by Blackbeard and Royal Red and a few Super Duty’s. The black pen is sired by non other then Anchor D Blackbeard who has defiantly left his mark year after year. They are bullet proof! The War Machine calf and the 11E calf could be the two best blacks to ever sell out of the black division. The heifer offering this year is a very exciting group, with the heifers being selected right from the top of our replacement pen! These heifers could have been sold in production sales this fall but we felt it would be better to sell them out of our own sale barn! Again, the best 7 heifers out of that pen will be available sale day! We feel they will be great assets to any operation they go to work in and buy with confidence knowing they come from some of our strongest cow families. We are extremely confident in our cattle, and we know that they will go out and work, and be as functional as possible. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has purchased or showed interest in our program over the years. Everyone knows that you can drive a lot of miles just to find that one bull that will go out there into a cowherd and have the “it” factor. We may have that “Remedy” for you. If there were one calf that rose to the occasion and became the looker of the pen, you would probably have this guy in your scope of vision. Dark liver red, tons of guts, and the polled factor to boot, this fella has it all. You have the combination that has been stellar and probably thee best bloodline to every be encountered at Blushrose. The polled rocket daughters from 12P have been some of the most consistent and most appealing cows to ever walk this cowherd. Just when you think you cant gets any better you take those daughters and you breed them with non other than True Grit. Here’s the first look into our offering from Blackbeard that sired the largest group in this years sale once again. What a thrill it is to start off the black section of this year’s sale with War Machine. This guy has it all, structure, shape, depth, hair, and the fact that he could very well be more impressive then his sire one day. His mother raised a heifer in last year’s sale that sold to Grayden Kay of Rockytop Cattle Company of Lloydminster. The Kesha Cow has proven herself already with the first two years of production. She’s producing ideal cattle in our minds and we cant wait to see what else she will reveal to us in years to come. Everyone loves a good baldy! If you’re looking for a black bull that will go out and make some baldy females, this guy will do the trick! Its not likely that you will sell a single female when you find out how well made the daughters will be! You will want to keep them all! His mother is probably the best uttered black cows to walk Blushrose and just like her son, she carries that money stripe on her forehead! If your having a hard time picking which of these first three black beards you like better, try making a sale and catalogue order! This guy is big nutted, structurally sound, and has a ton of guts to him. This is probably our favorite group of blacks we have raised and I think that it shows the depth of the Blackbeard offering. Here’s the first calf to offer off of a bull that we purchased form North Creek Simmentals a few years ago! His momma is a first calf heifer that has shown us that she can raise them just like the cows in their prime. He’s a percentage bull that could do a lot of good in a commercial program and has tons of shape, length of body, and is built like a boat! We are extremely happy to see how these Recoil daughters have been producing and know that they will be a big part of our program moving forward. Take this guy seriously; he’s the real deal. Another black baldy calf that has really matured throughout the year, he was weaned a little later then the rest of the pen but has quickly caught up with the rest of the group. His mother produced a bull in last year’s sale that sold to Prairie Hill Farms and previous sales to Lake View Colony, SRC Ranch LTD and Gary Welter. This bull will make very feminine females that you will want to build a cowherd around. Money Stripe to boot, this guy is going to be good!

Outstanding young prospect in the making with 29E. Another Red Blackbeard that has turned out great! His mother has been a super productive cow that was purchased from Erixon Simmentals. Her track record includes multiple daughters kept in the herd for replacements and she also produced a bull that sold to North Creek Simmentals of Borden, and last years heifer calf sold to Tyler Amundson of Viking. 29E has always been one that sticks out in the pen since he was only a couple weeks old. Stubby on the sire side, and Crosby and Body Builder on the Dam side, what more could you ask for!

Can’t say enough about how well this calf is put together and could definitely go to work in the heifer pen. Moderate, super long, and off of the same cow family as BRSF 68E, the leadoff red! His momma produced this guy and what a job she’s done on her first calf of her career. I can’t say enough about how well put together he is. His sire is RF Merchant who has been used extensively here over the past few years as an A.I Sire. This bull was made from some of the most popular genetics in the Simmental Industry, Ankonian Red Caesar, Broker, and Kuntz Super Duty on the momma side, and backed by the famous Super Duty on the Sire side. Another Royal Red that has been a standout since birth. Tons of middle and thickness to him and not to mention the stoutness he possesses. His mother was purchased from Diamond J Simmentals and has proven to be one of the best cows out of the package of heifers that we purchased from them. She’s not the biggest cow your going to find at our places but she’s sure to be one of the thickest! He’s not as dark as some of the other reds in the sale but what he lacks in colour he more than makes up for it everywhere else. Take a look at one of the coolest calves in the bullpen! Some of you might remember the awesome black bull that we sold in last year’s sale to Carpathian Cattle Company, well this is his brother and he’s dang cool. He is by far one of the darkest calves out of the reds and carries himself very well in the bullpen. He is a full brother to his brother from last year but he showed up red. Which means that both parentages are black. Good chance to use him on reds or blacks and have good luck with both!

Many of you might remember the bull Recoil that we walked from Maxwell Simmentals. He was a sire that went out and has had 5 calf crops at Blushrose and produced a large amount of sale bulls over the years. After we had trouble with a Fullblood breeding bull a few seasons ago, we decided that Recoil would be the bull of choice to go and get the job done. This is one of the resulting calves off of those fullbloods cows in that breeding group. His mother has sold bulls to Charcross Ranch, Brooks Simmentals. Here is a late February calf that has struck me by surprise and has really put on the pounds! He is thick, deep, stout and off one of the oldest cows in the herd.
