Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque. Settlement to be made immediately after completion of the sale, payable at par to Bow Slope Shipping Association. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All Settlements must be made with the clerk before any cattle will be released. Bidding: Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. No by-bidding will be permitted. Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision on all disputes will be final. Announcements: All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to such disclosures. Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the breed association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. Health: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements. Bull sale season is here again, I sit here writing this drinking coffee looking out at the cold weather I am glad that we are not having to bundle up to check cows. 2018 has see many changes for us, we are now calving all the cows in April and May, and we are only offering two-year old bulls. We believe that this is a very consistent offering this year. Once again, we have bulls out of the SDC Bait the Hook 34B, SOS Chuckwagon 54C, SHSH Wildcard 72B, PCC Spartan 4Y, and finally our red herdsire GLM Chevy 22B. As we reflect on the past year, Mother nature had an adventure planned for us. Hay bales were few and far between, pasture land was crunchy under the feet. But there were also some great things that happened through out the year, like missing calving through the April Storms, kids succeeding at their activities. Speaking of kids, Danna is in Grade 3 is involved with 4-H showing both the grand champion Steer and Heifer and won the Grand Aggerate for our show and is working on this years projects, she is also in Archery, Tae Kwon Doe. Charlee is in kindergarten and Tae Kwon Doe, she also has taking a love for the cattle. Trace is 2 and loves riding in the tractor feeding cows. Lynn and Dallas kids, Cole and Owen are both in hockey and ball. Cole is in grade 2 and has picked himself a heifer which he will be showing at 4-H this year and Owen is in Play school. Hayden is 2 and has found the candy corner at the rink. All the kids enjoy the horses, jumping on grandma and grandpasâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; trampoline. Dad had some heart complications and ended up having another open-heart operation in December, as you can see, he is back to trying momsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; patience everyday, so we think he is on the mend. You will notice this year there are a couple new faces joining us. Fleming Livestock are consigning Charolais yearling bulls, as well as Diamond L Ranching are also consigning Red Angus yearling and two-year-old bulls. Once again, we are happy to be teamed up with Ashbacher Angus. Our open house is February 24, 2019 at mom and dads house, please join us for supper and bull display. If you are unable to make it then coffee is always on and we would love to show you the pen. The bulls will be in Brooks March 11 if that works better for you let Chad know and he will meet you there. If you have any questions, please call or stop by.

We are very excited to offer our first two bulls on March 14, 2019 in Brooks, AB. Currently we are in the process of building up our small herd with only high quality females and using the best herd sires we can find. Well here is Laken’s buddy Slap Shot! His great vigor and disposition from day one has made him a hard bull to part with. I truly feel his exceptional length and smoothness, as well as performance, make him an ideal candidate for the heifer pen or cow pen. His mother, 7U, has been an absolute no miss cow with bulls and females working in many herds. His sire, PCC Fresh 527C, was the high selling bull for Prairie Cove Charolais in 2016. Slap Shot has calving ease, great cow power and milk on both sides of his pedigree.

Gunner is a Bottom’s Up son out of a very nice first calve heifer. His mother, 15D is a big bodied, moderate framed, heavy milker with great feet. Gunner also possesses these traits. He is moderate framed, has a ton of middle and hair, as well as a huge foot under him. If you’re looking for a calf with a little more bone to use on your cowherd, this guy’s calves will definitely push down the scale!

We, at Diamond L Ranch, are truly grateful for the opportunity to market our bulls in such a prestigious sale, it is an honour to be selling bulls alongside veterans McKeary Charolais and Ashbacher Angus and newcomers Fleming Livestock Corp. For the past four years we have marketed our bulls in the Medicine Hat Bull sale as well as by Private Treaty. We feel that bringing our complete offering to Brooks will prove the value in the cattle we produce. These bulls are prepared to work in real world conditions for real people. Our ranch is located south west of Oyen, AB along HWY 570. Our cattle are raised in hard grass country; we believe this makes them a hardier animal overall. We operate with minimal machinery and minimal extras. No silage here. No creep either. We want our cattle to carry a majority of the workload. Our bulls are raised on grass, hay and supplementary pellets. We typically push our April-May calving cows to graze into January. For that reason we desire cattle that are effective and efficient in a low input operation. We want cows that are fertile, moderate framed, with lots of hair, easy-fleshing and excellent leg and feet structure. Our entire herd, including the bulls, are on a full health program. On offer we have a group of yearlings and a group of two year olds. Our yearlings come off of a small group of cows and heifers we breed to calve in February-March. This group generally includes our embryo cows and any new additions to our herd. Our two year olds are out of our April-May calving cows; these bulls are born on pasture, lightly backgrounded through the winter and then kicked back out on grass to develop. None of these bulls have been previously offered for sale, there are no leftovers here. Within both of these groups there are a great selection of bulls that have power and performance without sacrificing the angus calving ease. We have been working with Owen Severson with Trouw Nutrition along with the nutritionists from Blue Rock Animal Nutrition to feed and raise our bulls in a responsible manner. We raise these bulls to work for you, we want them to maintain or gain condition during breeding season. We are invested in our customers, let us assist you in your bull buying experience.
