Welcome to our 8th Annual Bull Sale. As I write this welcome to you, I am reminiscing the experiences that 2023 has given us. Ranching is not always easy. It will wear on you and it will test you. But in all of this the reward is immeasurable. It is a way of life for our kids. It gives life lessons and rich experiences that you will not find anywhere else. There is a sense of pride that comes from choosing and raising your own stock, your own way. My buyers are some of the most kind, sincere, and strongest people I have met. I admire each and every one of you for the job you are doing. Raising your stock, with your blood and sweat, your own way. Every year brings new challenges and new rewards, and I am happy to be here and doing what I love with all of you. Day by day, and step by step we will live in the moment and keep on building for the future of the cattle business and for the future of the Charolais breed. You can count on these bulls to be good honest cattle. And you can count on us to be there to answer your questions and to build with you to suit your needs. The cattle market continues to be strong and Char cross calves are in high demand. Every year we see more and more cattlemen realizing the benefit of the Charolais breed as a cross. Char bulls cross good with pretty much everything, Simmental, Angus, Hereford, Limousin, Gelbvieh and the list goes on. Char cross calves bring a premium, and they perform, plain and simple. Buy yourself a Char bull and widen your profit margins with extra pounds. The Twin Anchor bull class of 2024 is top notch. Our feed program has remained the same, with longevity in mind for our customers. We have continued with our TMR program and this year the bulls are getting a premium blend of home raised S01 oats with top quality silage. Our herd sires all have proven to be easy calvers, with that extra punch for good weaning weights. The genetics we have built our herd with have been carefully picked, and I think you will agree the quality shows in these bulls. We place great importance on performance, hair, calving ease, and longevity. We strive to provide our customers with bulls that will provide these qualities and sire a calf group to be proud of. Delivery:
We will deliver insured bulls to central points in Alberta, free of charge. Delivery arrangements can be made for out of province, we are very flexible. We recommend that all bulls be insured if sending back to the farm. Bulls to be picked up or delivered by May 1st, 2024.
Bull Health Program:
All bulls have had routine vaccinations on a full herd health program. Bulls will have received both shots of Fusogard to protect against foot rot. All bulls have received and passed a breeding evaluation and semen test. If any bulls are sold as deferred, no money will be exchanged until your bull has passed a semen test. It is of utmost importance to us that you are happy with your purchase, and the animals entered in the sale will be evaluated with careful consideration.

The 1E cow always puts out a good calf. She has a two year old in this years sale as well. Ladd is no exception to that rule and is a thick and well put together bull.

We love this bull with a little bias because we love the momma cow. She is quiet, deep bodied and good footed. Her calves always do well and we look forward to the results. An excellent weaning weight. A cow that has been producing since our 1st bull catalogue. We would feature this bull as a breeder’s bull. This is likely the best tan bull that we have ever raised. 2D has great calving ease and raises absolute performance bulls. This bull is long, deep and stout with a very attractive head and loads of hair. I will be retaining a semen interest on this bull. Just an absolute stunner.

This bull is born on our first grandson’s birthday…we love his mama…a cow that has been producing since we started this venture. This year we will sell 2 of her calves in the sale as 100K did not make our age cut off for last year’s sale, but she jumped right back into cycle to drop a February calf for this year’s sale. Two half brothers sold to Jack Baier in 2017 and 2020. You can compare her pairing with Badiragauto and Riggs.

Excellent bull….heifer bull. We are so impressed with Franco, our heifer sire. Calving has been so easy, just a few days ago, one of our heifers was laying down chewing her cud…as her calves feet and nose entered the world…the calves are born quickly with no strain on calf or mother. Resistol has been a main herd sire on the ranch and his calves are standouts. He stamps his calves with a curly thick hair coat, deep middles and wide tops. What more could a cattleman want? Resistol has become a staple on our farm and a foundation of our herd. Daughters are very maternal and heavy milking. To say we have been impressed with this bull would be an understatement.

The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlement must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BREEDER’S GUARANTEE, BULLS: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age.
