Power controller for public lighting systems

W-SAVING Power controller for public lighting systems

W-Saving is the new flux controller developed to control the individual columns used in public lighting systems. Sophisticated software and technologically simple components work together to achieve maximum efficiency and maximum energy saving.

W-saving can be identified by the following features: › Personalized daily programming cycle › Energy saving up to 40% › Low environmental impact › Increased lamp life › Reduced maintenance › Easy installation › Fast investment payback

Personalized cycles W-Saving is researched to satisfy energy saving requirements in accordance with the various types of applications. With W-Saving, individual columns can be set to a suitable lighting level, thereby optimizing energy efficiency, based on a timetable and on different applications: you can chose the most appropriate calendar from 3 different preset cycles, which means the level of light emitted by the lamp can be adjusted

between 5 different levels in every planned phase. Energy saving Depending on the program selected, W-saving controls the voltage of the lamp to guarantee the correct lighting level in accordance with the various lighting requirements during the night. Laboratory tests and experiments on public lighting installations demonstrate that the energy savings achieved can reach 40%. This figure may

increase when w-saving is installed in old systems or systems which have suffered from a lack of maintenance.

Lamp life increased W-saving controls lighting levels and maintains them within the correct voltage range in accordance with the specific performance characteristics as determined by the lamp manufacturers. The result is increased lamp life.

Low impact on environment W-saving reduces the pollution created by the production of electricity. The electrical energy produced by heating plants based on the combustion of hydrocarbons produces CO2 in the air. W-saving contributes to energy saving and as a result reduces CO2 emissions.

System reliability In systems which are controlled using centralised equipment, every system fault can affect the power supply of the entire system,

or if the regulator is excluded it will no longer be capable of reducing the luminous flux. All energy saving will therefore be suspended until technical assistance arrives. Faults in a W-saving system do not compromise the reliability of the system or the total energy saving achieved.

of maintenance work and makes it easier to perform. Fast payback of the investment The cost of W-Saving can be repaid in a short time, considering the energy saving, the greater duration of the lamps, and the reduced number of technical assistance/maintenance callouts. The repayment rate correlates to the different power of lamps (W) and to the degree efficiency of the system.

Reduced maintenance The use of technologically simple components minimises the necessity

TRAFFIC-HEAVY ROADS OR PUBLIC PARKING

PUBLIC PARKS AND TOWN CENTRES

TOURIST SITES

The regional laws for energy saving and the main laws relating to street lighting require the adaptation of lighting levels in accordance with daily traffic, to optimize energy saving and to reduce environmental pollution, while guaranteeing safety on the streets.

For lighting of public parks and town centres the energy saving is connected to the lighting cycle activated. Depending on the daily time and the season, the lighting needs and energy savings may change. In these places there are no specific laws relating to energy saving.

At tourist and holiday sites the level of lighting changes during the year. It will reduce in squares or streets during the hours when there are less people, especially in the low season, and it will increase in the high season.
