Parent Information Evening
Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents and carers This week we welcomed Life Education to Junior School. Our students have enjoyed visiting the Life Education van on our school premises, meeting Healthy Harold the giraffe, and learning about health and well-being issues which impact their young lives. The Life Education van will be with us for one more week to ensure all classes are able to visit. I encourage parents and carers to discuss some of the issues learned with their children at home. I would like to remind parents and carers that our school day finishes at 3.20pm. Any junior school students with older siblings attending extension classes (classes which run after 3.20pm) must be supervised by a parent or carer and cannot be left in the care of their older sibling whilst they attend class. Please ensure your junior school children are collected on time. Due to wet weather today, our Clean up Australia Day event was postponed until next week. Please ensure your child has gloves and a plastic bag in their school bag in readiness for a clean up on Monday. Lastly, I would like to remind all families that our annual walkathon is coming up! Please find more information about the walkathon included in this week’s newsletter. I look forward to seeing you there, ready for a great family day out. Have a restful weekend. Miss Harold

MRS STEVENSON DEPUTY HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Week 8 Focus At Bellfield we use kind and polite words.
Assalamu Alaykum Dear Parents,
All students are to be onsite in Junior School for our morning assembly at 8:30am. This is the start of our school day and all students are expected to present prior to the bell so they can line up with their class as soon as the bell rings at 8:30am. Students who are continually late will be followed up by the Junior School Executive staff. Thank you for your continued support in following these College rules. Our Positive Behaviour for Learning focus for Week 8 is At Bellfield we use polite and kind words. Staff will be reminding students to use manners such as “Please”, “Thank You” and “Excuse me”. Having manners is an important social skill and assists everyone to be successful in life. Here at Bellfield College we show respect to each other by using manners in all of our interactions. Social Media is part of our everyday lives and can be exciting and fun. It also presents many dangers and opportunities for students to take unnecessary risks, bully others and become exposed to inappropriate content. Bellfield College supports the age restriction for Apps, which I have listed below. These restrictions clearly state that children under the age of 13 are not to have social media accounts.

Kind regards Mrs Natalie Stevenson

40 CLASS REPORT I cannot believe it is week 7 already! This term, all students in 4O have demonstrated improvement in learning. 4O is a happy and energetic group of students whom all work well together. In P.E. we started learning about basketball skills, Oztag and softball. In C.A.P.A. we are continuing to be creative through visual arts and some body movement. In geography we have been learning about Australia, the land of plenty. In science we have been learning that magnetism as an example of non-contact force. Congratulations to all students for their hard work. Kind Regards Mr. O’Leary

SWIMMING CARNIVAL UPDATE Assalamu alaykum, Dear parents, On Thursday 4th March, Year 3-6 students from Junior School joined the Senior School students at our annual Swimming Carnival at Bradbury Pools. We had a great turn out of students on the day who created an excellent atmosphere around the pool. Students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of traditional swimming races as well as novelty events. It was exciting to see students dressed in their house colours, chanting for their teammates and enjoying their day! The focus for the day was for the students to increase their confidence in the water environment and participate in positive competition – which I believe was a success! Kind Regards, Miss F.
