Lyudmyla Beloded MSGD
Ukrainian designer Lyudmyla Beloded MSGD leads a small team of designers from her office in Kyiv Do you work alone or as part of a team? I started my career as a solo designer, but today I head a team of professionals. I am happy to gather like-minded persons around me, to share my passion. What is your style? I try to create a harmony in synergy, naturalness, modesty and logical aesthetics. The style depends on context, on initial conditions and the quality of the surrounding space. Also on the architecture itself and the defined wishes of the client. What projects do you work on? In the past, most of my projects were private gardens. Nowadays I’m increasingly involved in developing urban and public spaces. Which completed projects are you most proud of? Our portfolio contains some projects of private estates in the suburbs of Kyiv, of which I am proud. They were created in a tight and functional collaboration with clients. A mutual trust and respect led to a creation of
astonishing, emotional gardens with a vivid character. What are some of the challenges you face as a designer? An important aspect is creating a balance between functionality and efficiency, and the aesthetic side of a project. The most complicated thing to do is to overcome your own perfectionism so you can finish a garden. What are you working on now? We are working on a recreation centre in one of the most beautiful corners of Ukraine, near the ancient, legendary city of Bohuslav. I am sure that it will become a centre of ecological and historical tourism, a magnet for tourists from Ukraine and Europe. What do you look for in collaborators and colleagues? It is important that a person aspires to self-improvement and wants to be involved and immersed in the process. Not only practical skills are important, but also the ability to easily understand the task, think creatively and take the initiative.
What software do you use? Our specialists work with both traditional and premium software for 3D design: SketchUp, AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, LUMION, 3D MAX. How do you envisage your career developing in the next five years? I am motivated that today in Ukraine more and more attention is paid to the creation of new public urban spaces, the improvement of public gardens and parks and creation and development of urban infrastructure, based on European experience and sustainability principles. Our task is to make our cities green and clean, and residents happy.
