After helping hundreds of Westchester County herniated disc sufferers eliminated their pain, Local Doctor explains how…
“Back Pain Technology Cheats Mother Nature Helps Herniated Discs Heal Naturally… In As Little As 25 Minutes!” At Last! Westchester County Doctor Offers Technology That Doesn’t Just End SEVERE Pain From Herniated Discs, But Helps Your Body To Start Rebuilding Them… As Fast As Humanly Possible! Best Part: You can check it all out for FREE if you like! There is no doubt… technology has made all of our lives better… and easier. Just about every miraculous medical cure and comfort of modern living can be attributed to amazing breakthroughs in technology. Heck, laser eye surgery can give people who are almost as blind as a bat perfect 20/20 vision. How amazing is that? That’s why it’s no surprise that technology might be able to solve your back and neck pain from herniated/bulging discs or sciatica…for good. Here is why: Back and neck pain can be devastating. And nothing is worse than going to doctor after doctor… trying treatment after treatment… spending money you can’t afford… and still suffering in pain. That’s why… I bet you would love to instantly end your pain… without any risk what-soever… and have it never come back for the rest of your life? Well, that might NOT be so easy. But, what if there was a wonderful advancement in technology that, with a handful of simple, non-invasive treatments, could possibly have you out of pain and on your way to healing naturally? Better yet, what if this technology could possibly heal your herniated/bulging discs (instead of cutting it out like surgery) so you have the best chance to live pain-free and do all the things you want and love to do? And what if this technology was: 3 FDA cleared! 3 Proven safe and effective! 3 Allows your herniated discs to heal naturally without the risky and dangerous side effects of surgery! 3 Relieves pain fast… in some cases in as little as 25 minutes! Well, guess what? There is such technology and there is a very good chance it can help you… like it has already helps thousands of herniated/bulging disc and sciatica sufferers all around the country… No Matter How Bad Your Pain Is, How Long You’ve Been Suffering Or How Many Other Treatments And Doctors Have Failed You! Don’t laugh. It’s really true. Here’s proof…
When you have a herniated disc, compressive forces cause your spinal bones to come together… basically squashing your disc. The space in between your bones decreases and the soft, jello-like disc material leaks out. This disc material that leaks out is called a herniated disc and can cause severe pain, numbness and tingling in your neck, back, arms or legs when the herniation pushes into and “pinches” a nerve. So it makes sense, if you could slightly pull the spinal bones apart… that would open up the space, take the pressure off the disc, the disc off the nerve and solve the problem. Right? But the only problem is… how do you do that? For years and years, doctors have been trying to do it with traction. But traction has been proven ineffective and often very painful. Why? Traction doesn’t work because when you have a herniated or bulging disc, the area is injured and when you try to move, your muscles go into spasm. Spasm is your body’s way of trying to protect you from causing further injury. That’s why traction hurts so much. As soon as the traction starts… your muscles overprotect the area and spasm. But the good news is: Now there is technology that out-smarts your body’s natural spasm reaction. In other words: It fools mother nature! This technology is called non-surgical spinal decompression (NSSD) and here’s how it works… NSSD is very different from plain traction because it has advanced computer technology that actually senses your spinal muscles. When it starts to gently pull, it immediately knows when your muscles start to contract and it stops pulling. As soon as your muscles relax, it starts pulling again. The amazing thing is: the computer senses your muscles contraction so early… you don’t even feel what is going on. Which means you never feel any pain! In fact, the only thing most patients feel is… RELIEF!!! But the best part is: NSSD is able to gently separate your spinal bones which, in many cases, actually sucks the herniated disc material back into the disc where it belongs! This takes away your pain and allows your herniated and bulging discs to heal naturally!
And check this out: Treatments are pleasant and simple. All you have to do is lie on your back, listen to your favorite music, read a magazine… or… take a nap! The wonderful technology does everything while you simply RELAX the pain away! To sum up NSSD: • For most patients it is 100% painless… in fact many patients actually fall asleep during treatment! • Works fast! Most patients get relief after a handful of treatments – some after the very first! • Is non-invasive so it does not have the dangerous risks of surgery! • Gets to the root cause of the problem and helps it heal naturally! Isn’t modern technology wonderful? And wouldn’t you like to… Give This Great Technology A Try… For Free? If you would, there’s great news. There is a Doctor located at 222 Westchester Ave. Suite 405 in White Plains who has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in this wonderful technology and has been treating herniated/bulging disc and sciatica patients with incredible success. His name is Dr. Jonathan Donath DC, MS and he is so excited about the results he’s been getting, he would like to share it with as many pain sufferers as possible. But There Is A Catch… There’s always a catch... isn’t there? Even though this technology has helped a majority of the patients Dr. Donath has treated… it is not a wonder cure and it does not help everyone.
On the right: healthy disc. Center: Herniated disc with soft disc material leaking out. On the left: Herniated disc material compressing or “pinching” nerve.
For that reason, Dr. Donath does a complete examination on every potential patient and only accepts you if he feels you are most likely to get the pain relief and outcome you are looking for. Dr. Donath’s Special Deal For You! Because the economy is so bad and Dr. Donath wants to help you if possible, he is offering the first 17 people who respond to this article a free consultation and NSSD qualification examination. And if you qualify for NSSD treatments, Dr. Donath will also give you one treatment for FREE! And if you do not qualify, Dr. Donath will help you find the best option for you. That’s why, if you suffer with pain from a herniated/bulging disc or sciatica you should call 914-259-8104 right now. When Barbara answers the phone, simply tell her you would like your free non-surgical spinal decompression consultation and examination. If you are one of the first 17, she will schedule you within the next few days. If you are in a lot of pain or already scheduled for surgery, tell Barbara and she will be sure to get you in immediately. Maybe even today.
On right: Herniated disc with spinal bones “squished” together. Center: NSSD slightly pulls the spinal bones apart, opens up the disc space and allows herniated material to move back into the disc. Left: Herniated material completely back in center of disc allows the disc to heal naturally. Your consultation and examination should take about 60 minutes. During this time you can get all of your questiones answered in a warm and friendly environment. You will know exactly what’s causing your pain and the best possible way to solve it. Dr. Donath will explain to you all your possible options along with his recomendations so you can make the best choice for YOU.
Why Limited To 17? Dr. Donath has limited the number he will accept right now to 17 because he does not believe patients should wait and they should also get the quality personal attention they deserve. When you go for your free visit, I’m sure you will see how unique and pleasant the experience is. It’s nice to be treated like a person and not a number or based on insurance coverage. It’s also nice to know exactly what’s causing your pain and how to relieve it as fast as possible. Dr. Donath’s favorite cases are the one’s that were able to cancel back surgery after only a handful of treatments. Dr. Donath also loves when a herniated disc patient that is in excruciating pain and thinks they’ve tried everything, lays down on the NSSD table, takes a 25 minute nap… and… wakes up with all their pain GONE! Just imagine how it would feel to have all your pain finally gone. Imagine going to bed and being able to sleep the entire night through… … and waking up refreshed and energized… ready to take on the brand new day – without the pain and stiffness that has been terrorizing you. And imagine finally knowing you have the solution to your herniated disc pain. Well, you may not have to just “imagine” anymore… because… NSSD might start relieving your pain… in just 25 minutes! So, if you’d like to see if you qualify and give this amazing technology a try for free… give Barbara a call at 914-259-8104 right now. Why wait one more day in pain when the solution may be one quick phone call away? Call now before someone else gets your free spot. One More Thing It’s Important… Ever since getting this wonderful technology, Dr. Donath’s office has been flooded with calls. For that reason, if when you call, the lines are busy or you go to voice mail… just keep calling back. The possibility of living pain-free is well worth the time and effort it may take you to get through and schedule your appointment. 914-259-8104

Women’s Health Week: Feel Better Now Healthcare News is on a women’s health kick and it turns out we’re not alone. May 11-17 is National Women’s Health Week – a weeklong health observance coordinated by the U.S. Department of Health. It brings together communities, businesses, government, health organizations, and other groups in Westchester County and beyond in an effort to promote women’s health and its importance. It also empowers women to make their health a priority and encourages them to take the following steps to improve their physical and mental health and lower their risks of certain diseases. We have a responsibility to support the important women we know and do everything we can to help them take steps for longer, healthier, happier lives. There are many important health issues every woman should be aware of and monitor. Healthcare News provides 10 tips for women to feel better – now. 1. Know your numbers – it’s important to identify your starting point. What is your current state of health and well-being? 2. Identify your stressors – anxiety and stress are major factors in a woman’s overall health. Take some time to recognize where and what increases your stress. 3. Keep a food journal – the foods we put into our body have a significant impact on how we feel, how we handle stress, and our total well-being. By writing down everything you eat, you become more aware and have a higher likelihood of making changes that stick. 4. Find ways to increase movement – the human body is designed to move. Most of us spend large periods of time sitting or standing. Make a conscious effort to use your muscles in new ways. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator and parking further away in parking lots really does make a difference.
5. Make it fun! Create a list of things you enjoy that are health enhancing…maybe going for a walk, dancing, taking a bath, reading a good book, relaxing in a comfortable chair while you eat a piece of fruit. If it’s fun, you’re more likely to stick with it. 6. Simplify your thinking – get away from all or nothing concepts. Everyone has slip-ups; that’s just part of life. Focus on small daily steps. Something is better than nothing. In some cases it’s best to just focus on doing one new healthy thing every day… we can all do that. 7. Clearly define your goals – it’s hard to feel good about your new direction if you are not clear on where you are going. What exactly is it that you want? Once you solidify your goal and are passionate about getting there, the motivation will come.
8. Establish new health habits or rituals – now that your goal is clear and you’ve identified fun, health enhancing actions, it’s time to build them into your daily routine. None of us needs another job or another chore, this needs to be a health enhancing habit that fits into your new healthy lifestyle. 9. Reward yourself! As you create a new healthy lifestyle reward yourself for the steps you’ve taken. Most woman don’t take the time to celebrate their success. Find something to be proud of every day and design a health enhancing reward. For example if your goal is to start a walking program, then after you’ve walked every day for 30-minutes for 2 weeks, get a massage or reward yourself with a warm bath and a good book. 10. Stay positive – too many woman quit before they even start. We tend to let our negative thoughts talk us out of ever taking action.

The most practical solution for weight loss is to burn more calories than you consume by exercising and eating less. Right, easy for us to say. But as anyone who has ever tried to lose weight knows, ‘eating less’ isn't always easy. Luckily, these tips and tricks will help you enjoy your food, consume fewer calories and help you train your brain to stop when you're satisfied—not stuffed! Ditch the Bag When you’ve got a hankering for potato chips or another snack, don’t just mindlessly eat from the bag or box. Instead, portion out a single serving into a small bowl. This way, you know exactly how much you’re eating and aren’t left mindlessly munching until the bag is empty.
20
ways to lose weight
Give Your Utensil a Rest In the rush of daily life, it can be easy to see mealtime as just another to-do. But rushing through meals can make you eat too much since it takes your brain awhile to register that your stomach is getting full. Put down your fork between bites to take your time and really savor your food. Eat Before You Go If you're going out to a party or restaurant where you know you'll be tempted to overeat, have a small snack before you leave the house. This way, you won't be ravenous when you're faced with a menu or buffet full of tempting treats and will be able to make more rational decisions. Mini-Meal It It has been suggested that eating five or six mini meals could help reduce blood sugar swings and curb out-of-control hunger. Some people prefer this method, while others like to stick with three square meals a day. Start with Soup When you’re out to dinner, start with a brothbased soup. Broth soups are lower in calories than creamy options and will take the edge off your hunger before your meal arrives. Minimize Distractions One recent study found that spending more time in front of the television leads to a higher consumption of unhealthy snacks and drinks. Be sure to skip the reruns while you’re noshing, and don't forget about other distractions like your smartphone or computer.
Drink Up It’s common to confuse thirst with hunger, so make sure you stay hydrated during the day. If you think you may not be truly hungry, drink a glass of water first and wait a few minutes. Often, the water will hit the spot if you're only thirsty, but hunger will intensify the longer you wait. Either way, studies have shown that drinking water before you eat a meal may also help you eat less overall. Listen to Your Stomach It can be easy to set your eating schedule by the clock, but this sometimes means that you’re eating a meal when you’re not actually hungry. This tactic only further confuses our bodies and inhibits us from noticing and responding to true feelings of hunger and fullness. Instead, make a concerted effort to listen to what your body is telling you when mealtime rolls around. You may find that you’re not even hungry and are just eating out of habit! Leave Enough Leftovers Sometimes a meal is so delicious that you have a hard time calling it quits. But remind yourself that what you don’t eat now will be available for leftovers later. Your future self will be very excited that your past self showed a little restraint! Out of Sight, Out of Mouth If you keep a food in sight, especially a tempting one, you're more likely to eat it. So don’t keep sweet treats or trigger foods in plain sight. Hide that candy jar on your desk, and place treats or snack foods on the highest shelf out of sight in your pantry. Avoid Eating on the Go When you eat on the run or in your car, you're more likely to grab convenience foods (think high calorie and fast-food items). If at all possible, try to eat at home. A recent nutrition study suggests that people eat healthier meals in the comfort of their own homes. continued on next page
20 ways to lose weight Buy a Junior-Size Portion If you do have to hit up fastfood to cope with your craving for a burger or fries, choose the regular hamburger or even the junior or kids sizes. You'll satisfy your craving without indulging in a caloric disaster. Use Smaller Plates Dinner plates have expanded in diameter over the years, and so have our waistlines. Filling a larger plate can cause you to scoop up (and eat) larger portions. Downsize your dinner plate to trick your eye and brain into eating less. Focus on the Company The next time you sit down to a meal with family or friends, slow down your eating and really contribute to the conversation at the table rather than letting it become secondary to your meal.

habits out the window—not to mention that alcohol calories add no nutritional value to your diet. So drink in moderation and alternate each drink with water, or skip the alcohol altogether and remain strong in your healthy eating convictions!
Stop Before You're Stuffed By the time your brain registers the fact that you're full, you're often too full. Eat only until you're no longer hungry—not until you're so stuffed that you have to add a notch to your belt.

Sacrifice Soda— Even Diet Soda Some studies show that drinking diet soda can still put you at risk for obesity and type 2 diabetes, while triggering your appetite and sugar cravings. If you get thirsty, water is always the best choice!
Start Making Changes Today! The easiest way to start eating less is to implement a variety of simple changes that you can stick with for the long haul. That, plus a little patience and planning, will help you reach your weight-loss goals.
VARICOSE VEINS? TIRED, ACHY LEGS? We have a solution! Look and feel your best! Dr. Arlen G. Get a To-Go Box When at a restaurant, ask the server to bring a to-go box at the same time he or she delivers your meal. Pack up half of your meal as soon as it's served and you'll automatically save half the calories and fat. Split Your Meal If you feel weird about boxing up your meal when it's served, plan to split your entree with a dinner partner when dining out. Stall Before Serving Seconds When you’ve finished eating, but still feeling hungry for more, wait. Give yourself five minutes to let your fullness level register with your brain. Skip the Alcohol When you're out with friends, it can be easy to sip on alcohol, lose your inhibitions and start throwing your healthy eating

Five exercises to lose your love handles We’re all equipped with body fat that insulates us from root to tip. This is totally normal, but get this:
Healthy women typically have at least 10 percent more body fat than men do. Sigh. However, the real trouble comes when women accumulate just a little bit too much around the middle of our abdomens. Of course, this phenomenon is known as, gasp, love handles. Sigh. Again. While small love handles aren’t anything to worry about, if there’s too much of a good thing, the results can be quite unpleasant: the dreaded muffin top. Here are five relatively painless exercises to help lessen your love handles or make sure they don’t appear: 1. Side Plank With Hip Dips Starting from an upper-pushup plank position, bring your right hand directly under your nose. Bring your feet together behind you, then roll to the outside edge of your right foot and stack your left foot on top of it. Lift your hand off the ground, so all your weight is balanced on your right hand and edge of your right foot. Pull your belly in toward your spine, then dip both your hips down until they almost touch the ground. Lift them back up toward the ceiling. Repeat this movement 10 times on each side, and do three sets. This is a fantastic exercise for your oblique muscles, those abdominal muscles that live on the sides of your core. 2. Boat Pose With Twists This one’s a move derived from traditional Pilates: sit on the floor and lift your legs and feet away from the ground. Bend your knees at 90 degree-angles and lean your torso back about 45 degrees. Bring your arms our long in front of you and press your palms together like a prayer. (Your body should look like the letter “V,” but with bent knees.) Sit up tall on an inhale, then as you exhale, twist your arms over to the right until they touch the floor beside you. Inhale back to center, then exhale to twist the other way. Repeat 25 times. 3. Plank With Knee Twists Start in an upper-pushup plank position with your hands directly under your shoulders, then come down to your forearms. Lift up your right foot, extending your leg out straight behind you. Take a deep breath in, then on the exhale bend your leg and bring your right knee to your left elbow. Extend the leg back and place it down, then switch sides. Repeat 10 times on each side. 4. Leg Circles Lie down on your back with your arms down by your hips, palm down. Pull your lower abdominal muscles in toward your spine, then lift your legs up toward the ceiling so your body forms an “L” shape. Pull your legs down toward the ground over to right, but before they touch the floor, bring them center so they’re hovering above the floor. Then pull them over to the left, and back up to center toward the ceiling; your legs should be making a big circle. Do it 10 times toward the right, then 10 times on the left. 5. Good Posture Believe it or not, sitting up straight while you’re at your desk, having lunch, or just walking around can significantly impact your love handles. When you’re at your computer, for example, sit up tall and gently pull your stomach muscles in toward your spinal column. This slight, ongoing activation of your core muscles will help tone them while also burning more calories a day. It’s a subtle change that can make a big difference.

The Importance of Elder Law: You must protect your assets, family and future now! For nearly 30 years, practicing law has been Ely Rosenzveig’s passion. His inspiration? That comes from, among other things, his life experiences, the people he has met, and the clients he works with every day. The widow who didn’t have a will and was concerned about her financial future. The family that was reeling from health issues impacting their elderly loved ones without any planning in place to address their needs, leaving them with the prospect of exorbitantly expensive care needs. Ely Rosenzveig was a rabbi in Westchester County. The plight of some in his congregation moved him to practice elder law and trust and estate planning. He would become a senior partner at one of the foremost elder law firms in the country, but left to join hands with his son, Ariel. “I really jumped at the opportunity to work in this area of law,” Ely Rosenzveig said. “I think it’s special kind of work. To help people and work with your son is incredibly rewarding. Ariel is a great asset – a wonderful and gifted young attorney.” The law firm of Ely J. Rosenzveig & Associates, P.C. in White Plains practices in all areas of elder law, including trust and
estate planning, administration, and litigation, tax counsel, asset protection and special needs planning, Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security disability benefits, guardianships, long term care planning, spousal recovery claims, and Medicaid lien resolutions. Father and son pride themselves on an unyielding commitment to the zealous advocacy of their clients’ interests. Estate planning is one of the most important steps any person can take to make sure that their final property and health care wishes are honored, and that loved ones are provided for in their absence. A comprehensive estate plan can resolve a number of legal questions that arise whenever anyone dies. Appropriate estate and Medicaid planning can help preserve assets, reduce taxes, and help individuals qualify for Medicaid. “People don’t want to talk about illness and death,” Ariel Rosenzveig said. “It’s a tough subject. People are reluctant, but the type of measures that we implement for our clients can save them and their loved ones a lot of money. Proper planning will help provide financial and emotional security for all involved.”
The firm is very experienced in making sure that those eligible for Medicaid and Medicare get the benefits they deserve. Ely J. Rosenzveig & Associates, P.C. has been very successful in negotiating the complex bureaucratic minefield in which Medicaid is now mired, a dynamic only exacerbated with the passage of the Deficit reduction Act of 2006, and the new rules regarding the look-back requirements, and penalty period calculations for non-Medicaid exempt asset transfers. The firm has achieved remarkable results for clients on a host of Medicaid related issues, from getting Medicaid approvals for coverage of home care and institutional care benefits, to very accommodative resolutions of Medicaid spousal recovery claims, where the office of Medicaid aggressively pursues the non-institutionalized (i.e., or “community”) spouse for Medicaid benefits provided. No matter what the case, Ely J. Rosenzveig & Associates, P.C. prides itself on working with each client individually, catering to each one’s diverse needs. Estate planning should begin at a young age with a will, health care proxy, living
will and durable power of attorney. As you grow older and accumulate assets, it is especially important that you speak with an experience elder law attorney issues pertaining to issues concerning Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and further estate planning. Elder law is about more than just saving money. When viewed properly, elder law is about two major things: First, ensuring that your personal wishes — financial, medical, and legal — are carried out; and second, understanding that elder law is a family matter affecting an intricate web of individual relationships. Knowing that your potential long-term care needs have already been addressed frees you and your family from needless worry. And Ely and Ariel Rosenzveig are there to help their cherished clients every step of the way. “We want every client to feel like they are our only client,” Ely Rosenzveig said. “We are totally committed to ensuring that we be fully responsive to our clients’ every need. For us, this is tremendously rewarding. It is the very reason why we have become elder law attorneys.”

Spring is here—time to shed those winter clothes and take on a brand new YOU! I would like to start out by wishing all the Mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day. By the time you are reading this article, the weather is “finally” getting warmer and signs that Spring has arrived are starting to show. After the winter we had, this is much deserved break! With Spring comes the time for lighter clothing. Following Spring is Summer which means even less clothing. Somewhere in between there is the moment when you realize that Spring and Summer are realities and you have to shed those sweats you have been hiding under for the past 5 months! Oh No! So you put on those winter 10 pounds? Now what? Remember that gym membership that you have—start using it. Remember that large appliance in your kitchen called a stove—you know the thing you ignored because you passed the drive-thru on your way home or making food in the microwave was just easier. Your beverage of choice---let me guess that it has NOT been water has it? For those of you who think that those “diet” foods and drinks are so healthy for you—think again—they are doing more harm than good. Let’s pick this apart. Drive-thru— yes, “some” items can be realistically healthy but do you really know just how much salt you are consuming or how clean that oil is (think about what else has been cooked in it and how many times it has been reused). How about those salads you think are healthy---take a good look at what’s on it (croutons=carbs, cheese (you don’t control the portion size), dressing—even the low calorie ones have a lot of sugar and the full fat ones are just that—fattening. There goes your healthy salad. How about the good old microwave. Yes they are great and I use one myself. I am not against microwaves, but I am against them replacing the stove in order to cook fresh fish, meats and vegetables. Anything that comes in a box or a jar cannot be the healthiest for you. Look at the preservatives.
Think about this…meat must stay refrigerated or frozen to stay fresh. How is it that jar meat sauce can sit on a shelf for who knows how long and not spoil? Ever look at the ingredients? Bet you can’t pronounce half of them. Look at the sodium content—it will make your blood pressure rise just reading it. Water---water is needed to keep our bodies hydrated. PURE water is what we need. By adding in drinks (or foods) with artificial sweeteners you are adding toxins to your body. I can write an entire article just on toxins but for this purpose, just know that these artificial sweeteners are bad news and even though you think you are being good by not having “sugar” artificial sweeteners are just as bad. They even make you crave sweets more which is why you eat more cake, cookies, candy, etc. it’s a vicious cycle because now you are throwing your blood sugar for a loop and try as you may to cut calories, with these sugar cravings you will just end up eating more than you planned on without realizing it. So to prepare for the warmer months ahead and to get healthy here are a few things I highly recommend you do. Drink plenty (half your body weight in ounces) a day of water. Exercise—even if you take the stairs instead of the elevator, take a walk at lunch, MOVE, keep your body in motion. Add more fresh foods into your diet and cut down (cut of completely if possible) the artificial sweeteners, switch to stevia which is a great alternative. Just by doing these few things, you should notice your body starting to get back
to where it was before you hid inside your seats for the winter. This is not going to happen overnight and should not just be done for the few warm months out of the year. A healthy lifestyle means a healthy you. A healthy you means you will be around longer to enjoy your friends, family and all of your loved ones. Ten BeautyTips for Spring
1. Drink plenty of water
4. Get plenty of sleep
8. Proceed with caution
Water helps rid the body of toxins, pollutants and waste that can make the body look and feel sluggish. And although it's not technically a moisturizer, water keeps our organs healthy and functioning—including the largest organ of the body—the skin.
Sleep deprivation can cause under eye circles and puffiness, dull-looking skin, and it also contributes to stress, which aggravates skin conditions like acne, eczema and psoriasis.
Using products that can discolor skin of color, such as bleaching creams and products with harmful chemicals, and doing certain procedures such as harsh dermabrasion or chemical peels, can cause skin damage, scars and keloids.
2. Respect your skin tone Skin tone, as well as skin undertones, really do have an impact on what makeup you should use. Certain makeup colors might make your skin look muddy or sallow, while others will give skin a gorgeous glow. The perfect makeup enhances your beauty.
3. You don’t always need to be trendy Trendy makeup looks can be fun, but just make sure that they suit you. Be careful of beauty fads like “beauty vitamins,” “secret” beauty ingredients or the new magic anti-aging device with loads of promises but little science behind them.
5. Wash your face before nighty, night Dirt, environmental pollutants, germs, bacteria and excessive oil accumulates on the skin during the day and should be cleansed away so that the skin can breathe and be rejuvenated.
6. Use products for Your skin type Products that are not formulated for your skin type can cause problems. Whether your skin is normal, oily, dry, combination, sensitive or mature, seek out products meant for your special skin.
7. Consume beauty food What you put inside your skin is as important as what you put on it. Consume a diet with the right amount of vitamins and minerals, found in abundance in fruits and vegetables.
9. Use sunscreen It's important to use sunscreen year-round, especially if you are being treated for hyper-pigmentation, acne and other conditions that might require the use of products that can make the skin more sensitive to the sun.
10. Stop smoking Like sun damage, smoking is a major factor in the wrinkling of the skin. Nicotine in cigarette smoke causes blood vessels and capillaries to constrict, decreasing the circulation of oxygen within the skin, which is necessary for the health, maintenance and growth of skin cells.

Six Spring Beauty Reboot Tips Try these six simple tips to jumpstart your daily beauty routine and any of those beauty resolutions that may have already begun to fizzle.
Smile Bright With so many at-home innovations for teeth whitening, this is the time to make a whiter smile a priority! For the time challenged, Rembrant’s 2-Hour Whitening Kit or even a treatment with LED technology such as Go Smile’s Smile Whitening Light. You can find the kit for under $20. You’ll catch yourself smiling more and feeling even more confident. Nails If you have artificial or gel nails, try giving your nails a break every few months to help strengthen them and return to their natural state. Now is the time to try one of spring’s nude tones that look understated and natural, yet polished. Another option is to try nail polish strips, such as Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips, which cost about $9 at drugstores. Eco-Friendly Beauty Products Beauty products are increasingly moving towards organic and natural ingredients -- give one of these a shot! With technology improving to increase the performance of natural ingredients, now is the time to try eco-friendly products that are both good for you and for the environment. Look for products that contain 100% certified organic ingredients such as Physician’s Formula Organic Wear, which was the first line in the USA to obtain the ECOCERT seal of approval.
Toss any products that might irritate your skin. Maybe you tried a high level retinol or glycolic product that irritated your skin, or caused you to break out. Whatever it is, remove it from your skincare regimen to avoid over-exfoliating or causing further irritation, which in the long run can make your skin more dry and prone to red patches. Instead, try some more soothing formulas that contain antioxidants, peptides or hyaluronic acid. Perfect Skin Now is the time to eliminate any products that make your skin look cakey or highlight imperfections. At the makeup counter, experiment with different formulas from airbrush to cream or mineral, and decide which one is best for your skin. This is the perfect time to add in a primer and make it a part of your daily beauty routine. Primers smooth your skin and create a smooth base for your makeup. Some formulas are tinted so you can even go without makeup if you choose and some contain colors (such as green, pink or yellow) to correct complexion flaws. Hair heat Since most women use hair dryers or heat tools on their hair, now is the time to add in a thermal heat protector. Try TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray, available at drugstores. Continually using heat products on your hair will damage and cause breakage and dryness so it’s important to protect your hair in any way you can. Now is the time to try a hair oil such as Moroccan Oil. There are even formulas for those of us with fine hair. Hair oils are usually a combination of Argan Oil (which naturally contains Vitamin A , Vitamin F and Omega 6) and silicones, which are proven to smooth and protect hair from environmental factors.

Healthy Mother’s Day gifts Sure, you can take mom out for dinner. You can buy her flowers or chocolate. But why not tell your mom how much you really love her by helping her be as healthy as possible, so she can live a long, fulfilling life? Moms will truly appreciate that your Mother’s Day gift is aimed at keeping her happy, healthy, and in your life for a long time. Healthcare News came up with a list of healthy gift ideas for every mom. (Healthier) chocolate
a good night’s sleep
Dark chocolate contains antioxidants, which can mop up the damaging free radicals known to play a role in heart disease and other illnesses. Just make sure you choose types with less sugar and fewer calories: This way you can satisfy mom’s sweet tooth and benefit her heart.
Adequate sleep is linked to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes, as well as other health conditions. Buy your mom satin sheets, a new mattress, a mattress cover, or a luxurious pillow to encourage better sleep. For new mothers, offer to watch the baby while she takes a nap.
a get-fit basket Instead of a gourmet gift basket filled with sweets, make your own fitness gift basket. Not sure what to put in it? It could be a yoga DVD, or a workout top, if she’s interested in getting more exercise.
The gift of time and support Offer to be your mom’s health buddy. Promise to be there for any and all doctor’s visits whether a mammogram or routine appointment.
The gift of (healthy) eating Rather than an expensive, artery-clogging brunch, make mom a light meal from your favorite healthy cookbook and leave the book behind for her to try out later. If she already cooks, present her with some skinny-kitchen gadgets, like a steam basket, grill pan, or oil mister. You could even spring for a visit with a nutritionist and follow it with a healthy meal. Mother’s Day is a great reason to get your mom to see a nutritionist.

Essentially Free Long-Term Care Insurance By Andrew J. Cavaliere, CLTC Today many people are involved in “Medicaid Planning” with a certified elder law attorney. What does this kind of planning mean and why do they do it? In order to become eligible for Extended Medicaid coverage, an individual must not exceed their state’s minimum income & asset requirements1. This usually requires that a person transfer assets out of their estate in order to protect those assets from expensive long-term care bills. Moreover, any gifts or transfers have a 60 month look back period regarding eligibilty2. Most people are very familiar with the “Medicaid Spend-Down” scenario and how devastating this can be to most families financially. Paying for the cost of long-term care of a loved one dollar-for-dollar is never a good option. Many families are financially ruined because of the cost of extended care. It is essential that every person carry out their estate planning advanced directives regarding long-term care services beforehand. Otherwise, expenses resulting from extended care can easily run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A s k
So what medical bills can be counted toward a spend-down? • • • • • • • •
Your own medical bills. Your spouse’s medical bills. Parent’s bills for their children’s spend down. Bills of a child living with you. Bills of a child who does not live with you, but whose medical bills you help pay for. Past unpaid medical bills (sometimes up to 6 years old) for yourself or any of the people named above. The part of any medical bill not covered by Medicare or private insurance. Medical expenses (including insurance premiums) paid for you by certain public programs, for example, the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Program (EPIC) and the Child Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
A n
Despite knowing about this potentially enormous liability, many folks still do not purchase long-term care insurance because they see it as too expensive. They just do not want to pay the premiums every year nor do they want to have to worry about if they can afford the policy if those premiums increase sometime in the future. So instead, they decide to transfer the majority of their assets out of their estate to facilitate eligibility for Medicaid benefits in five years. Having said that, there still remains the danger of a claim during the transfer period. Often, attorneys recommend that the Medicaid Planning involve the purchase of a temporary long-term care policy with a five year benefit period in order to “bridge” the liability of the 60 month look back period as per the Deficit Reduction Omnibus Reconciliation Act 2005. Once the look back period has expired, the client can cancel their coverage and avoid paying any future premiums. This strategy however still costs money, typically $30,000 to $50,0003. And further, what if the client dies? The following example solves this problem quite easily. What if the client has the means to purchase a Single Premium Universal Life Insurance policy with a Long-Term Care Rider instead of the traditional LTCI policy in order to “bridge” the gap? These contracts are often referred to as “Linked” policies because during the 60 month look back period the client not only has adequate long-term care insurance, but also has a guaranteed life insurance death benefit that is higher than the original deposit. And what if the policy can be cancelled for a 100% return of premium after the 60 month look back period with no surrender charges? Sounds too good to be true? Well, two carriers currently offer linked products with guaranteed return or premium riders4. Thus, the client can buy the insurance and keep it in force until such time as they no longer need it and their assets are fully protected. This strategy completes the entire leveraged transaction at no cost to the insured. EXAMPLE: Jane is a 67 year old married, non-smoking female who purchases a single premium $100,000 Linked Universal Life Insurance policy with a Long-Term Care Rider to insure her liability while she waits for her assets to become Medicaid ineligible in 60 months. The $100,000 single premium buys her $211,962 of life insurance and $387,045 of long-term care coverage from day one. Assuming there are no claims, at the end of five years, she can surrender the contract and receive 100% of her premium back with no surrender charges. The transaction is essentially a 60 month FREE loan with some very significant tax-free insurance benefits5. Call us today if you would like additional information about this cutting edge estate planning concept. For more information about Single Premium Universal Life Insurance policies with a Long-Term Care Riders, please call Andrew J. Cavaliere, CLTC at 914-682-2190 or toll free at 877-676-9900. Andrew is certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC) from the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification, Inc. Andrew is a member in good standing of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), which is the premier Association of financial professionals nationally. Andrew’s offices are located at 50 Main Street, White Plains, NY 10606 and at 500 West Putnam Ave, Greenwich CT 06831. 1

7 Tips for surviving Spring allergies Most people can hardly wait for the arrival of spring, following the cough, cold and flu season, cold weather and being cooped up indoors from the cold. However, along with the warm weather, comes pollens and molds that plague those of us with seasonal allergies. People with seasonal allergies often forget about their plight over the winter months. Before they can fully enjoy the spring and summer weather, nasal itching, runny nose, sneezing, stuffy nose, itchy and watery eyes zero in to spoil the fun. What can allergy sufferers do to prepare for outdoor allergy season? Here are seven tips: 2. Keep windows and doors shut at home. Your screens will not keep out those tiny pollens and molds that may find their way to your eyes and nose even while inside the house. Consider running the a/c earlier in the year if it gets stuffy.
1. Visit your doctor. Talk to your doctor about starting your allergy medications before the pollens and molds get underway. In the Midwest this is usually by March. Non-drowsy antihistamines are preferred. Prescription nasal sprays (nasal steroids) have become key players in managing nasal allergies. They should also be started a 1-2 weeks before your pollen season begins.
5. Time outdoor activities properly. Try to avoid outdoor activities in the early and mid-morning hours. Pollen counts tend to be higher in the morning.
3. Keep the car windows up. When in your car, keep your windows up. If you can adjust your vent to re-circulate inter-compartment air, do it! Sorry, this also means keeping the sunroof closed.
6. Know your allergens. If you have some allergy symptoms during winter months you are probably allergic to dust mite, pets or mold spores. Indoor environmental controls may help you during the outdoor allergy seasons by reducing your response to these indoor triggers over night.
4. Take your antihistamines. If yard work is unavoidable, take your antihistamine at least two hours before going out if it is a once or twice daily pill. Consider wearing a dust mask and glasses while working. Remove your clothing and take a shower immediately after going back in the house.
7. Wash out your nose. Keep some nasal saline around to rinse out your nasal passages two or three times a day when allergy symptoms are more active. Many people have discovered that sinus drainage and congestion is greatly reduced by once or twice daily nasal rinses with saline.

What do doctors do to treat their own pain? As a board-certified internist who has been in practice for over 13 years, I spend much of my time attempting to alleviate the pain and suffering of my patients. As a clinician, one of the biggest challenges I face is helping my patients deal with musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain syndromes—those all-too-common, yet frequently debilitating ailments caused by bad backs, pinched nerves, arthritis, and the like. Unfortunately, much of what I have to offer my patients boils down to the following: take a pain pill, stretch if you can, wait, and hope for the best. After a failed trial of “conservative” therapy a call might go out to the orthopedic surgeon for assistance; a truly satisfactory result is not common. The simple fact is that physicians are not well trained to deal with musculoskeletal pain, and patients can suffer as a result. Thankfully, my views on this topic have been turned completely upside down since I havepersonally discovered Dr. Jonathan Donath’s outstanding practice. After beginning a vigorous exercise regimen I started to experience awful neck and upper back pain, accompanied by numbness and tingling down my left arm and fingers. For weeks I tried to nurse the pain with non steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, but the pain persisted and got to the point that I was almost unable to work, sleep, or most importantly, play guitar. I wasliterally in tears from the excruciating pain. A neurosurgeon diagnosed a herniated disc and pinched nerve in my neck and offered to decompress it with an operation. In desperation I called Dr. Donath instead. My visit to Dr. Donath’s office was an outstanding experience. He spent about an hour with me and combined multiple modalities to fix the herniated disc in my neck: deep massage, active release techniques, traditional manipulation, cold therapy, and finally spinal decompression. After that first hour with Dr. Donath my pain had decreased from a 10/10 down to a manageable 4/10, and I was able to comfortably move my head and neck. That very night I was able to play guitar again. Two days later I went back for another series of treatments and the pain decreased even further. After about five days the pain was absolutely gone. Unbelievable! Since then he has used the same wonderful techniques to help me overcome painful bouts of sciatica as well. My own patients and family members have become “believers” in Dr. Donath’s abilities as well--- the results he achieves are real and lasting. He is my go to guy for the majority of musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain syndromes that I now realize are truly treatable. Dr. Robert Sidlow MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine
I am a pediatrician and in my work, I have to bend down a lot and I’m constantly lifting kids. I usually have one to three bad flare ups of low back pain every year. When my back would "go out", I could barely walk to the bathroom and would have to lie down in bed for a few days. I have tried everything: doing nothing and "toughing it out", muscle relaxants, physical therapy, chiropractic, therapeutic massage, and even painful steroid injections. Nothing worked. When I moved to Westchester, I met Dr. Jonathan Donath. In just a couple of sessions with Dr. Donath, the pain completely disappeared. If it hadn't happened to me, I wouldn't have believed it. During my last flare up, I was expecting to be on my back for 2-3 days and in pain for 2 weeks. Instead, after one session with Dr. Donath, I was able to walk; two more sessions and I was fine. I could walk, bend down and I had almost no pain. Since that last back episode, Dr. Donath has helped me with my tendonitis in my right hand and with my chronic knee problems. I recommend Dr. Donath to everyone with back, muscle or joint pain. Even if you have not had relief with other treatments and other Chiropractors, give Dr. Donath a chance. I did and he changed my life. Eugene Dinkevich MD, Mount Vernon, NY It’s my great pleasure to write about Westchester Spinal Decompression Center. I really don’t have words to express my feelings about the care I got in last 3 months. I was almost handicapped, living with terrible pain all the time, crippling my day to day life. I am a medical doctor and work in a hospital with all sorts of amazing physicians, but after seeing a physical therapist, getting epidural steroids injections, many orthopedists and neurosurgeons, finally my destination lead me to see Dr Jonathan Donath. With great skepticism, I lied down for spinal decompression therapy. It was unbelievable that after only two initial sessions, my radiating pain down my leg had almost disappeared. Gradually, I started getting better, started doing exercises that they gave me midway through the treatment. Now, I am doing all my daily activities without any pain. I highly recommend Dr Jonathan and his colleague Dr Kavita for any problems related to the musculoskeletal system, you will definitely feel at home and will get better.
