Elephant and Castle Careers Fair at Southwark College

The Elephant and Castle Town Centre team, in collaboration with Southwark College and the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali, are excited to be hosting the 2024 Careers Fair, taking place at Southwark College on Thursday, 27th June, from 1pm to 5pm.

Building on the success of last year’s event at Castle Square, where over 20 exhibitors offered a range of opportunities, from training schemes and apprenticeships to work experience and entry-level positions, this year’s Careers Fair promises to be even more impactful, with engaging workshops and informative stalls providing the perfect platform for individuals aged 16 and over who are eager to kick-start their careers or explore further education opportunities.

The event will be a fantastic opportunity for young people in Southwark to learn about career paths from employers and education providers in various sectors, including public services, construction, property management and IT.

The Elephant and Castle Town Centre Team is delighted to be working with Southwark College and the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali, to organise this event, reflecting their commitment to creating real opportunities for the local community to thrive and grow. In addition to the Careers Fair, the team’s ongoing support for local residents and traders through the Community Hub, Inspiring Elephant Community Fund, and a variety of promotional events throughout the year highlight their dedication to building a lasting legacy within the community.

Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali, shared her enthusiasm for the event: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to discover a range of career and education opportunities in Southwark and across London. I’m working with the Elephant and Castle Town Centre team to create an inspiring line-up at the Careers Fair, with representatives from diverse employers and educational and training establishments offering advice and guidance. We also encourage local job-seekers and those contemplating a career change to visit the Careers Fair and explore the opportunities available.”
