Q Name and job title and brief career background?

My name is Krystyna Sitarz and I’m the Centre Manager for Capital Business Centre in South Croydon. I was born in Poland but moved to the UK in 2007. Originally, I came here for three months but then ended up staying! My previous roles include managing two serviced offices in London.

Q What does your role entail?

My job is so diverse – no two days are the same! I am in charge of a team of four and together we are responsible for supporting the small businesses who occupy our workspace. I handle all new enquiries and love showing prospective customers our centre and facilities

Q Overview of Capital Space in Croydon?

Capital Business Centre is home to more than 60 flourishing businesses who let our workspace on a flexible monthly licence. Our SMEs are drawn from diverse sectors such as health, retail, distribution, manufacturing and of course those looking for a base for their office staff. Whilst we appeal to businesses from a wide area such as Caterham, Warlingham and Coulsdon, over half of our customers live within four miles of the centre.

Q What are its facilities and capacity and key benefits of Capital Space?

Our USP is our flexible workspace offered on a simple, monthly licence, which gives our business owners the freedom to upsize, downsize, change their type of space or vacate with just a month’s notice. The licence includes superfast internet and free parking. I think our other USP is the exceptional service my team delivers to our customers, whether they want mail collected, meeting rooms booked, calls answered or VoIP packages set up. We believe we offer the best, truly flexible workspace in Croydon, whatever type and size of business you own, supported by a professional and friendly centre management team.

Q Challenges faced in this business sector?

Providing business accommodation is highly competitive and of course, this sector has seen a great deal of change, with businesses requiring a more flexible approach than a traditional lease can offer. Our flexible licence, combined with excellent customer service, has served us very well in terms of occupancy, retention and customer satisfaction. 2025 is a big year for us; it marks over 20 years of providing workspace in Croydon. We plan to celebrate this milestone with our customers next year. At a time when Croydon is flourishing as a hub for businesses, recently polled in the top 10 most financially productive places in the UK, and hailed as a diverse, dynamic and an exciting place to live and work, we are very excited for the next 20 years.

Q Future plans? (development, expansion, offers, recruitment etc.)

We continually make investments in maintenance and refurbishment. We have recently upgraded our bathrooms, replaced our iconic but ageing tower atop the main reception building and plan to spruce up our communal areas. We are thrilled about hosting the South Croydon Ladies Who Latte networking group on the first Monday of every month between 10am-noon, as we’re keen to help foster collaboration between local entrepreneurs.
