Why the 5M Business Growth Model?

The 5M Model evolved during my 20+ yrs. experience marketing my own consulting services and working with business owners on their own personal development and business growth. I was studying for a Chartered Institute of Marketing accredited marketing degree and realised that business growth is more than just marketing. Growth is also linked to how we grow personally and overcome the emotional barriers that so often hold business owners back. I realised that it’s time to rethink how we approach marketing and focus on strategy, team growth; how businesses are organised and managed, and naturally, how you measure the outcomes of those efforts.

What are the Key Elements?

The 5M Business Growth Model focuses on five key areas of business. Whether you’re a solo business owner or a large enterprise employing hundreds of people, all five areas should be worked on and measured. Each area is independent of each other and yet they need to work simultaneously to achieve your growth goals.

How does it work?

Every business is at a different stage. I knew a different approach was needed to the typical programmatic, linear approach favoured by training companies. Our approach is a cyclical model that targets one of five growth areas depending on individual business needs. We assess your current position and focus your attention in specific areas to have maximum impact on your growth goals. The starting point is different for each business whilst the outcome is the same, business growth.

Who is it for?

Typically, it’s service-based businesses that employ teams of 3 or more. Our approach is to coach business owners through the model, keeping them accountable for their actions, unless the CEOs prefer a completely managed solution where we manage their team on their behalf.

Where should you start?

Sales and cash flow are key to all businesses and so many businesses are chasing sales without any form of plan or growth strategy. I’ve seen many owners throw thousands of pounds into training and marketing tactics without knowing if it’s the right approach and without the means to measure the results. The first step is to create a business and marketing strategy giving you a sense of direction and purpose.
