The Benjamin Founders’ Society
Dear Guests of the Gala, When I heard the theme for tonight was Masquerade, I ran out to buy myself a Sponge Bob Square Pants costume. While bragging about it up in the Advancement Office, I was shamed into the realization that tonight would be a slightly more elegant evening than I had envisioned. Well, leave it to Stephanie & Bud Kline and Krista & Steve Nicklaus to create high drama at Mar-a-Lago for the BASH Gala of 2015. Our BASH co-chairs have orchestrated a night of misty intrigue. Glittering and sophisticated masks float by mysteriously. “Who are you?” “Who am I?” Upon the sea of haute fashion and high sophistication, our Honorary co-chairs, Ambassador Al and Dawn Hoffman, make their stylish entrance. The evening can now commence in earnest! Amidst the unrecognizable guests swooshing by us with feet never quite touching the floor, we remember, finally, why we are here! We have come to support our children, their future and the breathless efforts of The Benjamin School. So, masks off, everybody! You know who you are! You are the parents of TBS who have come this evening to ensure the growing strength of your children’s school. Thank you, one and all, for disclosing your true identity--believers in the magic of this exceptional school! On behalf of the best teachers anywhere, please accept my deep appreciation for your tremendous support. (Sponge) Bob Voted “Most Unique”
Welcome from the Chairs Dear Parents and Friends of The Benjamin School, Welcome to BASH Gala 2015 as we celebrate The Benjamin School and our community at the incomparable Mar-a-lago. For over 30 years, we have been Building a Scholarship Heritage that has allowed so many children the benefit of educational experiences and programs that are truly “Second to None.” Tonight we are grateful to be in the company of a number of incredible families who have made a long-lasting impact on The Benjamin School. We especially thank our Honorary Chairs, Ambassador Al and Dawn Hoffman, whose leadership, wisdom, vision and generosity have helped make The Benjamin School all that it is today. It goes without saying we could not have completed this journey alone. We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to our committee, volunteers, administration and faculty who worked tirelessly. Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts! So we raise our masks and thank you for your support. Enjoy the BASHQUERADE!
Thank You!

The Benjamin School
The Benjamin School standards far surpass those of the International School!
Meet the Hoffmans To the Benjamin Family... For our first two years at The Benjamin School, I didn’t know what BASH meant. I thought it meant a big party or popular social event. When I realized that the meaning and purpose of BASH (Building a Scholastic Heritage) was to build a strong future and academic excellence for our children, I was so grateful to belong to this amazing community. I began to think about the incredible opportunities offered to our children and to all Benjamin students and the remarkable education they are receiving. Dawn and I feel blessed that our two girls, Sophie and Ava, are attending The Benjamin School. For three years from 2005, I was privileged to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to Portugal and served as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for the American School in Lisbon. During this time, I saw first hand the rigorous academic standards and excellence required
at the International School. I was amazed, however, The Benjamin School standards far surpass those of the International School! Both the rigorous academic standards and a community that cares so much are the reasons The Benjamin School is regarded as a renowned academic institution. On behalf of Dawn and myself, we thank all of you for caring about your children’s future and choosing this great institution we call The Benjamin School.
