dear GUESTS of the GALA ou look in the mirror to see who you are now. You step through the looking glass to see who you are capable of becoming! At The Benjamin School, every student is guided beyond the present into a world of fascinating possibilities. Through the Looking Glass is the perfect image to reflect the journey of personal discovery that each child takes at our school. No boy or girl entering our school remains the same. You learn to speak another language. You learn to be an artist. You learn to be an engineer. You learn to be a dancer. You learn to be a writer. You learn to be an actor. You learn to be an athlete. You learn to be a scientist. You learn to be a historian. You learn to be a singer. You learn where numbers can take you. You learn what has come before. You learn what is yet to come. You learn to love to learn. You learn that BASH means Building a Scholastic Heritage. You learn that when moms and dads come together to create a future, magic happens. Thank you all for stepping through the looking glass this evening to show the way. Michelle & Chris Grande and Denise & John Caruso lead us tonight past what we know and toward what we can only imagine for our children. Our BASH cochairs are accompanied in their voyage to the other side by a couple who, for many years, insisted that our school be better, stretch further and show our students what can lie ahead. Thank you, Lynda and Jeff Jacobs, our Honorary Chairs. I hope you enjoy this supernatural preview tonight that mirrors the exciting future that beckons us from the other side of the looking glass at TBS. It is your generous participation this evening that will take us there. For now, I must go because I am late, I am late, for a very important date! Alice’s good friend,
Bob Goldberg | Head of Wonderland

BASH: Through the Looking Glass
WELCOME from the CHAIRS Dear Parents and Friends of The Benjamin School, We are so happy you could join us for “Through the Looking Glass,” the 2016 BASH Gala at beautiful Trump National Jupiter. This year, we are celebrating the 32nd anniversary of the Gala! We would first like to thank our amazing committee, our sponsors and advertisers, and the TBS administration for their endless support and dedication in making this event a success for our children’s educational future. We especially want to thank our Honorary Chairs, Jeff and Lynda Jacobs, for their great generosity and longstanding commitment to The Benjamin School. They say it “takes a village” to raise a child, and we feel this is what our Benjamin community is and will continue to be. We are “Unlocking the Doors to a World of Possibilities” this evening. Tonight, through our special Call From the Heart appeal, we will be asking for your help in advancing our children’s education through a new STEM program! Thank you for joining us tonight for an evening in Wonderland!
Michelle and Chris Grande Denise and John Caruso
MEET the JACOBS To Our Benjamin School Family, We are truly honored to serve as Honorary Chairs for the 2016 BASH Gala. Tonight we gather together to peer “Through the Looking Glass” as we behold the spectacular Trump ballroom transforming into a magical world. If we pause and take a moment to reflect, we will appreciate the collective energy and endless support that went into this unforgettable evening. It is this foundation that allows The Benjamin School to offer our children a world of possibilities each and every day. Fifteen years ago we nervously walked our pigtailed, strong-willed daughter into her PK4 classroom. It was this very day that we discovered an extended family of friends for our daughter, her siblings and ourselves. We have had the honor and privilege of sending all six of our children to The Benjamin School. It can be said that Honorary Chairs are also “seasoned” parents. We have journeyed alongside The Benjamin School through years of strategic growth and exciting new curricular programs. We have celebrated milestones and accolades together. We happily gather with our school community for groundbreaking ceremonies and grand unveilings. These events are spectacular, however, the more familiar moments offer us a glimpse into what makes The Benjamin School truly unique. It was not long ago, on a Friday evening, we found ourselves sitting amidst an audience
full of faculty and administration supporting and encouraging our son as he nervously sang in the middle school play. This genuine dedication means the world to our family as we realize our fortune in being part of The Benjamin School community. It is this synergy of support and compassion that places The Benjamin School in a league of its own. We want to extend heartfelt congratulations to this evening’s co-chairs, Denise and John Caruso and Michelle and Chris Grande. What a dynamic team! The coordination and planning required to create this unforgettable evening is quite remarkable. Thank you for lending your expertise and valuable time toward the creation of this beautiful event. We know you will enjoy the splendor of this glorious Gala. Let us join together and generously give to our ability so that The Benjamin School can continue to advance its mission of creating robust minds, strong character and creative hearts in our children! Cheers to a memorable and successful BASH Gala 2016!

general auction rules 1. All sales are final, and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items, except where specified. Items or gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. 2. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used by April 16, 2017. 3. Payment in full for auction items, prior to the end of the evening, is mandatory. Payment may be made with cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. 4. Item(s) may only be removed from the auction by exhibiting a PAID
receipt for said item(s) to a BASH Auction Official. 5. All auction items are offered “as is.” 6. The value of items has been determined by the donor and is not warranted by The Benjamin School for tax purposes or general value. 7. The amount paid for an item is not necessarily deductible as a charitable contribution. The charitable contribution is the amount paid in excess of the fair market value of the item. 8. Item descriptions and restrictions are provided by the donor. Some
trips or special events have restrictive dates. All trips and events are subject to availability per the donor. Airfare is included with trips only if indicated in the auction program. 9. In the event of a dispute after bidding has closed, a BASH Auction Official shall act as the final authority and shall determine the winning bidder. 10. If anyone has an inquiry regarding an item purchased at BASH, please call the BASH office at 561.472.3452.
silent auction rules 1. Guests will be asked to register their credit card at the registration table if they plan to bid on any items in the silent auction. 2. All items in the silent auction have a bid sheet adjacent to them. Persons desiring to bid must do so by writing their bid number next to the bid amount on the bid sheet. 3. The “starting bid” is the amount at which the bidding must begin and is so indicated on the bid sheet. In order to constitute a valid bid, each subsequent bid must be equal to, or in excess of, the “minimum raise” amount as indicated on the bid sheet. Bids that do not follow the aforementioned criteria will be deemed invalid and crossed out by a BASH Auction Official.
4. Each new bid must be written on the next available line on the bid sheet. 5. Bid sheets may not be altered in any way nor may they be removed from the auction tables. 6. The highest, properly made bid at the time the auction closes will be the winning bid. 7. If a legitimate dispute arises over the winning bid for an item, a BASH Auction Official may elect to ask the Auctioneer to hold a “bid-off.” In this case, each bidder will continue to write a bid until one stops bidding. The last valid bid will be considered the winner.
live & almost live auction rules 1. To register a bid, signal the Auctioneer or an Auction Spotter until your bid is recognized.
2. Winning bids will be recorded by BASH Auction Officials and charged to the winning bidder’s bid number.
3. Winning bids will be determined by the Auctioneer. The decision of the Auctioneer will be final.

Where people come to enjoy life through good food, fine wines, craft cocktails and friendly people! “This eclectic eatery is Napa Valley meets Palm Beach at its best. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with a friendly staff who are not only serving you, but sharing their knowledge about wine and food in a way that makes you feel part of their extended family. I call it comfy-chic and the menu is impeccable. It’s not easy to find an eatery where comfort and elegance converge so seamlessly.” - Jasmin Attia, The Lost Spice Blog
