Missed event cover Whenever you purchase a ticket – whether it’s for the match of the season, the concert of the year or that annual family outing to the pantomime – everyday cover gives you reassuring back-up in case the unexpected happens and you can’t make it to the event.

Missed event cover protects you against:

We cover any tickets that are paid for with you Barclaycard – whether it’s just your ticket or the whole party booking. Provided you return the tickets to us more than 72 hours before the event, we’ll refund the purchase price in full. If you return the tickets to us within 72 hours of the event then we refund 50% of the purchase price.

Significant Exclusions: The policy excess of ÂŁ25, which should be paid using your Barclaycard. Missed event cover We can refund the price of your tickets for theatre performances, sporting events or travel if you have to cancel your trip or return home following an unforeseen incident, if you use your Barclaycard to pay for the tickets in full. This cover allows you to claim up to a maximum of ÂŁ1,000 per year, credited to your Barclaycard account. Wherever a trip is cancelled in advance, you must send the tickets to us with your claim.

Significant Exclusions: Any disinclination to travel or to attend an event, other than as a result of the situations described above, or your failure to attend and event or to travel caused by your being late, other than due to the circumstances described above. Pre-existing medical conditions unless they are notified to us in advance and we accept them for insurance.

You can claim if your plans are cancelled due to the unforeseen illness, injury or death of yourself, a close relative, any person on whom your trip depends or any person with whom you intend to stay. You are also covered for cancellation due to redundancy or jury service.

Failure by a travel operator or other organisation to provide the transport or service advertised on the tickets.

You can also claim if your trip is cancelled as a result of a delay of more than 24 hours of your outward journey as a result of factors of which you were unaware at the time of booking the trip.

Your inability to travel due to failure to hold or produce a valid passport.

If your house is damaged either during your trip or within 48 hours of departure and the damage is in excess of ÂŁ1,500 and your presence is required by the Police, we will credit your Barclaycard account with the ticket value. If you are pregnant, we will cover cancellation or curtailment of your trip arising out of medical complications of your pregnancy.

Changes of plans due to financial circumstances other than redundancy, or caused by work commitments.

Foreign office announcements that travellers should avoid the destination, if made after the trip has been booked. Strikes or industrial action which are common knowledge at the time that arrangements were made for the trip or event.

Extended warranty cover We will provide you with at least 12 months of additional extended warranty cover on selected household appliances bought with your Barclaycard. Selected appliances that cost between £150 and £499.99 will qualify for 12 months Extended Warranty , and selected appliances costing £500 and above will qualify for 24 months Extended Warranty. These extended warranties are in addition to any warranty provided by the manufacturer. You must register your new appliance within 60 days of making your purchase, paying in full using your Barclaycard. There is no limit to the number of appliances that you can register. The manufacturer's warranty period must not be less than 12 months or greater than 24 months. You can claim up to a maximum of £1,500 per item, per breakdown. The maximum amount you can claim in one year is £5,000. Breakdowns must be notified to us within 45 days of happening. Significant Exclusions: Any breakdown occurring during the manufacturer's warranty period Installation costs where modifications are required to accommodate a new or similar appliance

Costs incurred by you as a result of your appliance being out of action Damage to the appliance which is not caused by mechanical or electrical breakdown. This includes accidental damage and manufacturers' faults Incorrect use of the electricity or gas supply, fuse rating, control settings, switches or water pressure, power cuts, changes in voltage or electricity company deliberately cutting off the power supply Repairs or installations carried out by anyone other than an authorised repair agent

Purchase protection cover Barclaycard Purchase Cover protects you against theft or damage caused to personal property bought with your Barclaycard, occurring within 60 days of your purchase.

Significant Exclusions:

We will settle successful claims by crediting your Barclaycard account with the full purchase amount.

Any theft or damage caused by wear and tear, depreciation or any process of alteration repair or cleaning.

The item must have cost £50 or more and the maximum for each claim is £1,500. You can claim up to a £5,000 maximum per year. No claim can exceed the amount charged to your Barclaycard in respect of the purchase, or be greater than your Barclaycard limit.

Theft or damage arising from inherent defects in the items purchased.

As the cardholder, you shall take reasonable precautions for the safety of the property purchased. For example, property will not be covered unless it is in the locked boot of a car or a locked, concealed luggage or glove compartment. You shall forward the damaged item and any undamaged item for which compensation is being provided upon request and assign legal right to recover from the party responsible for the loss or damage to us or our appointed representatives to the extent of the compensation payment made.

Any theft, damage or liability which at the time of such loss is insured.
