PRESIDENT’S GREETINGS On behalf of the Multicultural Association of Nova Scotian (MANS), welcome to Multifest 30! Back in 1984, members of MANS realized their dream to create a festival promoting culture and embracing heritage and ethnicity in Nova Scotia. Who could have imagined back then that we would be celebrating the 30th anniversary of what has become one of the most widely anticipated events of the summer. Drawing visitors regionally and from across the globe, Multifest has become an annual tradition in Nova Scotia. The festival is an occasion to recognize the many cultural communities, and to experience what they have to offer as they share their cultures. Starting with a Street Party, and a carnival inspired Multicultural Parade, to the festivities at the outdoor grounds of the Halifax Seaport, Multifest 30 will feature a vibrant marketplace, children’s activities, spectacular entertainment and a delicious selection of ethnic foods, it is certain there will be something for everyone. Special thanks to the countless volunteers, sponsors, participants and staff who have worked so diligently to make this 30th year of Multifest a huge success. As they say…” it takes many hands”….Have fun and enjoy the festival! Darlene Cook President Multicultural Association of Nova Scotia (MANS)

I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings to everyone taking part in the 2014 Nova Scotia Multicultural Festival (MultiFest), presented by the Multicultural Association of Nova Scotia (MANS). This popular festival ushers in the summer season of cultural events that contribute to Nova Scotiaʹs enviable quality of life. Visitors can experience the sights, sounds, tastes, and traditions of the province’s diverse citizenship and gain a better appreciation and understanding of the many contributions that Canadians from all backgrounds bring to our society. On this, the 30th anniversary of MultiFest, I would like to commend MANS for working together with business and community sponsors and volunteers to make this celebration such a resounding success. Please accept my best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable experience.
