Summer Intern (Hybrid) – Bentley University Office of Sustainability The Bentley University Office of Sustainability seeks an energetic, self-starter for a full-time paid internship during summer 2022. Description – The Office of Sustainability is seeking an intern to assist with strategizing and organizing campus sustainability initiatives this summer. The summer will be spent analyzing previous year’s sustainability initiatives and planning initiatives for the upcoming academic year. The focus of the summer will be preparing the university’s upcoming submission to a national higher education sustainability rating (AASHE STARS) and implementing the first stage of the university’s updated Sustainability and Climate Action Plan. The candidate must possess strong written and oral skills. They should be organized, detail oriented, and reliable. Familiarity with data analysis using Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar is strongly preferred. Intern Responsibilities – 1. Support Office of Sustainability staff in data collection, analysis, and reporting for upcoming submission for national higher education sustainability rating and the university’s annual carbon footprint measurement. 2. Assist the Office of Sustainability in the first stage of implementation of the university’s 2021 Sustainability and Climate Action Plan. 3. Manage and create content for the Office of Sustainability’s social media channels – Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. 4. Prepare educational materials for the 2022/2023 academic year including but not limited to signage and educational campaign materials. Schedule – Approximately 10 weeks: June 6, 2022 – August 12, 2022, 35-hour weeks, 8:00 am – 5:30 pm Monday – Thursday. The start and end dates of this position are flexible depending on schedule of the candidate. We will work with you to make sure you have enough flexibility to feel comfortable. This position will be hybrid. Reporting Structure – Intern will report to the Manager of Sustainability. Compensation – $19.55/hour; additionally, the intern may be eligible for a housing stipend of $1,000 per month during the internship.
