If you’re looking for a new rose for your garden, why not choose a winner? Here, we celebrate three award-winning roses, and four of our current favourites

Every year, experts and breeders choose their ‘Rose of the Year’ and these roses have to be very special to make the grade. In recent years, there’s been a trend for soft apricot tones and light, fresh scents – a versatile combination. Once established, keep your new plant looking its best with specialist rose feed sprinkled around the base in spring and mid-summer, a thick mulch of compost in autumn to suppress weeds, and regular dead-heading of faded flowers. This should keep your roses flowering beautifully.
