Since 1911 Olivari has been manufacturing door handles at its own factories in Italy where the entire production process takes place.
Starting with brass billets, the handles are forged, milled, polished, buffed, chrome-plated and hallmarked with a laser. Olivari has attained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications. Though it uses the most advanced technology, Olivari preserves all the artisanal wisdom it has accumulated in over 110 years of history.

GLORIA Studio Olivari
Gloria was born from the research for a simple and elegant shape, adaptable to the multiplicity of living contexts.
Hence the decision to soften the shape by avoiding marked geometric presences and seeking proportion and harmony as a whole.
The handle therefore develops with rounded lines from the hub to the connection with the lever, which continues with more geometric and ergonomic lines.

In his long and productive collaboration with Olivari, Ponti focused on two types of approach to the design of handles. One was more organic, where the lever is offered to the hand’s grip as a sinuously modelled element The other was inspired by geometric clarity, according to which the hand naturally adapts to the shape. The former led to independent forms that are more expressive and influenced by ergonomic requirements.
