Our Bereavement Officers will ask you some questions and check your details to ensure they have the correct information required. They will explain what you need to do next and when the Medical Certificate of Cause of Death (MCCD) is likely to be completed. The Bereavement Office will contact you when the MCCD is ready for collection and arrange an appointment at a convenient time. They will also ask if you would like an appointment to register the death as we now have a Registrar from the Wakefield Registery Office based at Pinderfields (Monday to Friday). Please note: this is for deaths at Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals only.

We would advise you not to attend the Bereavement Office without first speaking to the Bereavement Officer. This is to ensure that all documentation is ready for you to collect on your arrival, or to explain the reason for any delay in issuing the documents.
