By the Numbers… Numbers unquestionably tell the story of 2015-16 at Bergen Community College: first in New Jersey for associate degree graduates for the second consecutive year; 48 commendations by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; and a new 63,000-square-foot Health Professions Integrated Teaching Center to support Bergen County’s No. 1 job sector – healthcare. But when you look behind the numbers, that’s where you find the true depth of our institution. You find students like valedictorian Anthony Tellez equally committed to earning a degree and giving back to their community. You find faculty like U.S. Professor of the Year Dr. Geoffrey Sadock committed to helping students succeed.

You find staff at all levels of our institution dedicated to making sure students have every opportunity to reach their goals. You find a community of government leaders, donors and county residents who embrace the College with open arms, providing support and encouragement to continue with our mission. That’s why I’m so proud to stand as our institution’s sixth president. (Had to close with a number!)

B. Kaye Walter President, Bergen Community College

The Bergen Community College Foundation Making a Difference… If you took a moment to think about who helped form the fabric of Bergen County, would you think of us? Since our inception in 1982, The Bergen Community College Foundation has assisted thousands of students achieve their academic goals. Working with our community partners we have consistently raised funds to assist students through scholarships, book funds, and emergency assistance.

Our need for support is consistent and strong… This year alone we witnessed a 36 percent increase in students applying for aid through our scholarship program. The Foundation proudly provided more than $400,000 in scholarships alone this past academic year. We’ve also provided countless bus passes and food assistance through our emergency assistance fund.

You can make a difference with us… You can become a member of the Bergen family with a gift to the Foundation. The Foundation accepts gifts in all amounts – no gift is too small or too large. Gifts may be designated for a specific use, or they may be directed to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund to be used wherever it is most needed for our students. The Foundation staff is available to assist you. For more information call 201-447-7117 or visit www.bergen.edu/foundation.
