BACK TO BASICS The history of Bering is intimately linked to that of its logo: the Polar Bear. Resistant to the cold, water, bumps and slides, the polar bear has become the emblem of our brand whose primary commitment is to offer products combining these three qualities for our equipment. The polar bear is an athlete, the complete result of fast evolution to adapt to a challenging environment: the Arctic ice. It runs at 35 km per hour on any surface and it can swim 600 km without putting its paws on dry land. It is white for camouflage, but its fur is like armour; the outer coat is strong to withstand friction on the ice and bitingly cold blizzards. Its body temperature is regulated so that it only begins to have "goose bumps" at -40° C. Constantly on the move, it travels thousands of kilometres each year in search of its exclusive game. When the polar bear comes out of the water and walks on the ice, it does not start aquaplaning thanks to hairs under its paws. This species is a prime example of evolution taken to extremes, without compromise, because the Polar climate leaves no room for the slightest flaw.
Bering supports Pôles Actions Association. Bering is proud to support "Pôles Actions", an association whose aim is to promote knowledge and protection of the Arctic and Antarctic ecosystems through actions based on raising awareness, education and supporting research in the Polar and Subpolar regions. Just like Bering, it defends with passion an animal representing a unique strength for our environment: the polar bear. Created by a group of enthusiasts of the Polar regions and Remy Marion. The latter has been studying polar bears for 25 years, and he talks about his experiences via conferences, books and photo exhibitions. His goal: to get people to understand that although this species seems indestructible it is still vulnerable under the onslaught of human activities. Pôles Actions also organises seminars dedicated to polar bears and the Arctic environment. The members of the association are preparing an international campaign to collect information on the distribution of polar bears with the help of boats sailing in these regions. AQUA COLD CRASH COMFORT
AQUA Water comes in many forms: rain, snow, hail, mist and fog. Whatever its appearance, it can cause discomfort that increases with speed. But it is not enough to provide protection that simply puts up a barrier to prevent water getting in. It must also allow water to be expelled from inside. Managing these two phenomena – stopping water penetration and regulating its escape – requires the development and use of fabrics with suitable properties and manufacturing techniques (coating, heat-welding, gutter stitching, etc).
COLD Cold. Amplified by the seasons, it also varies according to the climate where you happen to be and its effects depend on the speed at which you ride. A lowering of your body temperature can directly affect your safety by impeding your riding: numbness (in your hands, feet, etc), loss of sensitivity, pain/burning, general hypothermia.
CRASH Falls and collisions... Motorcyclists are at their most vulnerable in an accident. Protection becomes paramount, although we know that 100% effectiveness is never possible. Nonetheless, Bering is constantly conducting research into how to lower the level of physical injury. Achieving these safety standards is only possible with profound expertise in the design of protective clothing, combined with using the best materials – recognised for their strength, painstaking manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures that start from the design phase.

AJUSTING DYNAMIC TECHNOLOGY® Comfort has long been an important factor when choosing a jacket. BERING has responded with its innovative ADT system. Exclusive to BERING, this not only increases comfort, but safety too. ADT is an adjustable fastening system created and developed by BERING’s own design studio. The system involves placing fasteners on the rider’s chest and biceps that adjust the garment to fit each person’s shape perfectly, in one movement. This support helps rider comfort, which is especially welcome over long distances. By considerably reducing garment flapping at sustained high speeds, it limits fatigue and noise, thus significantly improving safety.

BW2 TECH® BW2 Tech is a range of waterproof, breathable inserts developed by BERING. BODYFIT A product has to meet demanding specifications. Apart from its technical properties, yoke materials and style, the cut is also an important factor. Now, when you see the "Body Fit" logo, you will know that the cut has been designed and made for a body-hugging fit.
KING AND QUEEN SIZE A standard product will suit an “average” size. But for those outside this average, it can be hard to find a jacket or trousers that perfectly fit their figure. Faced with increasing demand from more generously proportioned customers, Bering has introduced specially-designed products. Rather than opt for the inadequate and unsatisfactory solution of simply increasing the pattern size for an existing jacket or trousers, Bering has created the King and Queen Size ranges. The jacket has specifically designed measurements for the biceps, chest, forearm and waist. The same applies to the trousers, where the thigh, calf and waist measurements have been specially developed.
VISIBILITY SECURITY "Bering has developed a system to offer increased visibility for your jacket. To achieve this without spoiling the style, we have integrated reflective material strips directly into the products at the design and development stage. CERTIFICATION Law n ° 2009-890 of 22 July 2009 came into force in France on 1 July 2010. It ruled on Personal Protective Equipment including that for motorcyclists. The law stipulated that any product claiming to offer protection must be genuinely protective and hold certification to that effect. This certification is earned through successful completion of various tests (such as chemical, ergonomic, mechanical, etc) carried out by an approved European body. To enable easy recognition of a product that meets these demands, we have given it the following logo:
