LETTER FROM THE CHAIR
I
t’s hard to believe that our fall quarter is almost complete. There is an energy on each campus at this time of the year as students busily prepare their final projects and study for their final exams. It’s always such a reward to see how far each student has come from the beginning of the course to the end. Students gain confidence in the skills they learn as they get closer to graduation and prepare for future careers. Of course, this time of year is also centered around the winter holidays. Faculty and students look forward to a break in their busy schedules to spend time with their family and friends. I wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday. I look forward to seeing you back on campus in the new year!
AROUND CAMPUS On Wednesday, December 3rd, Professor Butensky’s NYC Fashion Forecasting class took the Windows Wear tour of New York, exploring the city’s fashion industry from the outside in. While being dazzled by the incredible displays, we learned a good deal about the architecture, the stores and the inspiration behind the glass. We especially loved the Sak’s windows, “An Enchanted Experience,” where classic fairy tale characters were presented with an Art Deco twist. Sensational!

ASHLEY PERRY “I have loved fashion for as long as I can remember. It stemmed from dressing Barbie in the playhouse as a kid to now being in college, pursuing my dreams to become a fashion editor and entrepreneur. Fashion is a beautiful art and to have interned with multiple fashion companies and people has truly been a blessing that attending Berkeley College in NY has allowed me. My greatest achievement thus far has been assisting costumer designer, Lorraine Coppin, with a fitting for the 2014 movie “Addicted,” and actually seeing the clothes come alive. Recently, I did my first “test shoot” [left], inspired by Lana Del Ray’s single “Money, Power, Glory.” This is only the beginning! I will be graduating winter quarter 2015!”
