January, 2019 Dear Berkeley Hall Member, We are proud to introduce the 2019 Golf Program Book to the membership. We look forward to the upcoming season which will include exciting new tournaments, updated tournaments and golf programs for the whole membership to enjoy. The 2019 Golf Program Book is available to view or download on the Club’s website. Go to www.berkeleyhallclub.com, under the Golf Home Page and click on 2019 Schedule and Tournament Results. The Golf Home Page is being modified to provide a more interactive experience and is a great source of all golf program information. The Professional Staff will be updating all golf pages with current event information, tournament news and results along with what merchandise is new or arriving soon in the professional shop. This year’s Tournament Book includes the complete 2019 schedule and entry forms for the “major” tournaments along with information on Golf Course Maintenance & Nine & Wine Events. In addition, additional golf events including The Players Amateur and other golf association events hosted at the club have been included. As a reminder, all 2019 tournament/event registration will be available on the Club’s website via ForeTees. Those who wish to scan their entry form to the golf shop may continue to do so for the 2019 season. Men’s and Ladies day will continue to be held on Wednesday’s and Thursday’s respectively and registration is through ForeTees or by calling the Golf Shop. Please remember to register early for all of your favorite events! We look forward to the upcoming season and as always please do not hesitate to call myself or any member of the Professional Shop Staff with any questions. All the best,

Adam Kushner Director of Golf

Rules and Etiquette: Thursday will be the weekly tournament day for the ladies golf program at Berkeley Hall and all women interested in golf are invited to participate. If you wish to play, either call the golf shop by 3:00pm the Wednesday prior to the event or register online through ForeTees. If the format scheduled requires more players than sign up, the professional staff may adjust the format to accommodate the number of players that sign up. Ladies Day golf events are usually divided into 9- and 18- hole groups. Golfers with a handicap of 36 or less are encouraged to play with the 18-hole group. A maximum handicap of 36 will apply for all of our major golf tournaments. There may also be some partner events where there would be a ten stroke differential between partners. Feel free to check with the professional staff if you have a question. USGA rules shall be followed unless otherwise specified. Play is from the Burgundy tees unless otherwise noted. You may choose to play from the Berkeley Tees or the Green Tees, and your strokes will be adjusted accordingly. Please advise the professional staff if you wish to play from a different set of tees.

Berkeley Hall Dress Code Appropriate golf attire is required for all Players. If in doubt as to appropriate attire, players should check with the Golf Shop staff. Dresses, skirts, shorts, slacks, golf shirts and blouses must be worn. Halter tops, T-Shirts, bathing suits, sweat pants, cut-offs, denim pants, racer backs, denim shorts, athletic shorts, denim skirts, or short shorts are not permitted. Shoes: Soft Spikes and Tennis Shoes are the only acceptable shoes for the golf courses and practice facilities. Large rubber spikes, metal spikes, and/or field shoes are not permitted. Acceptable spikes are available through the Locker Room.

Berkeley Hall Pace of Play & Course Etiquette Berkeley Hall’s pace of play policy has been set at 4 hours. Any group that falls behind the fourhour pace will be asked to speed up by the professional staff. Groups will get two warnings and if they cannot get back into position, they will be asked to pick up their balls and proceed to the correct position on the golf course. Members that are asked to skip ahead two times throughout the course of a year will meet with the Director of Golf to discuss different techniques to play in 4 hours or less. Members that are asked to skip ahead a third time will be invited to a Golf Committee meeting and may be restricted from “prime time” tee times. On days that we are Cart Path Only, pace of play will be set at 4 hours and 20 minutes. Repair ball marks on the green. Fill in all divots through the green. Carefully rake sand bunkers after use. Enter and exit the bunkers at their lowest elevation.

Posting Scores USGA Handicap Guidelines must always be observed when posting your score. Please note: 1. Post ALL scores (As of 2016, scores may not be posted during rounds that you are playing alone) 2. A score should be posted as a tournament score when you are playing an individual event where you putt everything out. The low gross tournaments, club championship and senior club championship are good examples of tournaments which should be posted as tournament scores. A tournament score stays in effect your for an entire year. 3. Adjust any hole score downward when it is higher than the maximum number of strokes you are allowed to post. See chart below. 4. If you start, but do not complete a hole, post for handicap purposes the score you most likely would have made. (This may not be the maximum for that hole.) 5. If you do not play a hole, post a score which is the sum of par plus the strokes you would get on that hole. 6. If you play 13 or more holes, post a score for the 18-holes using the above guideline to determine your score. 7. If you play nine holes two different days, post your 9-hole scores and let the computer calculate your 9 and 18-hole handicaps. 8. If you have any questions about posting, contact one of the members of the professional staff. The following chart establishes the maximum score you can post for your USGA established handicap. If you have questions, please ask the professional staff Equitable Stroke Control Course Handicap 9 or less 10 through 19 20 through 29 30 through 39 40 or more

Maximum Number on Any Hole double bogey 7 8 9 10
