Spring Refresh: Plans & Projects. ARB Guidelines are here to help!

ARB GUIDELINES: DID YOU KNOW? Unsure when to contact the ARB for approval? Berkeley Hall's ARB is here to help members with approvals relating to renovations, modifications or additions that affect the exterior of a home including landscaping, tree removal, lighting and painting.

DID YOU KNOW: Foundation plants: are required to be a minimum of 30” at installation and an evergreen plant. All service yards must also be screened with an evergreen plant that is a minimum of 15 gal. Signage: Security and Invisible fence signs are not permitted but stickers may be placed in a window or on your door glass. Lot Signs: are temporary and should be removed after construction, as the lot number does not correlate with the actual physical address. This can cause confusion for your guests, as well as EMS services should you need them. Once your home is complete you may contact us for an address sign. New Lot Signs: As you may have noticed we have been sprucing up lot signs. All lot signs with numbers only are club-owned properties. Mailboxes & Posts: Need a little refresh & painting? We’re happy to help. Replacement mailboxes should be purchased through the ARB. The cost for a new mailbox, lettering and post painting is $50. A good rule to keep in mind: Any exterior changes require ARB approval, and if in doubt, please contact Wendy Wagner in the ARB office at 843.815.8443 | wwagner@berkeleyhallclub.com.

CHEF'S TABLE: BLACK WAGYU STRIP STEAKS a simple sear is all you need

TO PREPARE: BLACK WAGYU STRIP STEAKS "Pull out the cast iron," says BHC Executive Chef Tim Uphold, "and get it good and hot! The high quality of our Black Wagyu Strip Steaks are easily discerned by the beef's thick marbling. All you need is a good hot pan, and keep it dry, no fat is needed - just salt and pepper to taste and a nice sear. "

"Nothing's better than a simple sear on our Black Wagyu Strip Steaks!" - Chef Tim Depending on the thickness, cook for 3 minutes or so on each side, serve and enjoy! {Mid-rare is suggested}. Purchase these mouthwatering steaks from Berkeley Butcher Block Shop, along with our wide selection of quality meats and seafood. To order, click here.

RIDDLE-MASTER ALEX CARRANZA Concierge & Cottage Services Manager Ever wonder who's behind all our clever riddles? Fortunately for us, Alex Carranza, BHC Concierge & Cottage Services Manager, has a natural gift for these fun brain teasers! "My family always had competitions on long car rides and we'd have to rhyme everything we said, from directions to ordering food. Whoever broke it or couldn’t rhyme would lose." she laughed. "If we were in separate cars, sometimes we'd use walkie-talkies. My brothers, my mom and I all fancy ourselves word raconteurs. SO it got competitive!" {See this week's riddle on pg 5}.
