Summer Dining

WITH KIERAN

KIERAN STAUNTON | DIRECTOR OF GOLF

e were blessed with some fabulous weather for March and April. Always a wonderful time of year in the Lowcountry for golf, this year was no different. We had record turnouts for all of our Spring events, which has been great to see. We are always looking at new events to add to the calendar to move with the ever-evolving membership demographic, so keep an eye out for some new golf experiences in the coming season. The Clubhouse renovation that has just begun will have a slight impact on our golfing for the next few months, but we will be keeping this to a minimum as best we can. The bag drop will continue to operate as normal to keep the members’ needs serviced during the duration. Even though the Summer is just beginning, we are already getting in gear for our great Fall golf events. The North-South Challenge, The Berkeley Classic, The Women’s Invitational and The Club Challenge are sure to be oversubscribed, so sign up early if you are keen to play in any of these events. The Women’s U.S. Mid-Amateur at Berkeley Hall is fast approaching. The Championship will be played on our North Course in late September, and we are looking forward to putting on a great event! We are still accepting volunteer registrations. If you would like to volunteer to help with the event, please see more details below.

Golf does not always come easily, or quickly. Allow the flight of the ball to tell you what you need to work on. Play the shots you know you can play.

BERKELEY HALL HOSTS 2021 U.S. WOMEN'S MID-AMATEUR

The USGA returns to Berkeley Hall for the 2021 U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, September 23-30, 2021.

“A friend to amateur golf since its founding, the USGA is thrilled to bring the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur to Berkeley Hall Club for the first time in 2021” said Stuart Francis, USGA Championship Committee chairman. “We are confident the course will provide a challenging test of golf, and know the club and community will deliver a memorable experience for all involved.” Berkeley Hall is exceptionally excited to be the host site for the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship. “We still have the opportunity for member volunteers to get involved and take part in this exciting championship,” said Rich Forde, Championship General Chairman. If you would like to volunteer to help with the event,

please email Volunteer Chair Brian Hayden at bjhayden11@yahoo.com or Director of Golf Kieran Staunton at kstaunton@berkeleyhallclub.com. “To bring this level of friendly competition to Berkeley Hall is a great opportunity for our Club and underscores our commitment to support women’s golf. The camaraderie between contestants is great and we know the championship will be a lot of fun to host," added Staunton.

RECIPROCAL PROGRAM

We are fortunate to have many great courses in our local area, and during the summer months we are able to offer reciprocal arrangements with most of them. We are still gathering all the details about the reciprocal program for the summer of 2021, but most clubs will be starting their programs on June 1 and running the reciprocals until September 1. Please contact the Golf Shop with any questions, and we will be happy to help you book your tee times this summer. Full details on the reciprocal program will be sent to all the members via email once all the local clubs have confirmed their details.

SEND US YOUR PHOTOS! If you happen to make a Hole-in-One here at Berkeley Hall, we would love to see a photo of you celebrating your special shot. Use the hashtag #holeinoneatBHC and we will share it across our social media channels.
