COMMUNITY BAND & SINGING SENIORS CONCERT November 3 & December 15 6:30 pm

Celebrate the Fall Season by joining us at the Senior Center for our Annual Harvest Dinner. Tickets are $14 and may be picked up at the Hospitality Desk. Ticket deadline is Tuesday, November 10. There will be entertainment by The Leftovers Band, and a raffle. The dinner will be a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Catered by Moss Rose.

Free to the public, donations appreciated for OHS Senior Scholarships. Following the December 15 concert refreshments provided by CareMore will be served.

Tuesday, December 1 - 1:00 pm Come and be a part of the decorating of the Senior Center for the holidays; this is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

November 29 & December 27 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Cost $7 Kick up your heels and join in on an afternoon of line dancing and fun.

HOLIDAY DINNER Friday, December 11 - 5:00 pm Come and celebrate the Holiday Season at the annual Holiday Dinner there will be entertainment and a special visit from Santa. There will also be a Holiday Sweater Contest; prizes will be given out for the ugliest sweater, the prettiest sweater, and the most creative sweater,. Ticket cost is $14 and will go on sale November 16 through December 9. Menu: Ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, roll, salad and dessert catered by Moss Rose.

PLANT SALE Wednesday - November 4 There will be a plant sale at the Senior Center starting November 4. These plants have been donated by Bonny Bianchi. All proceeds will go towards our Hospitality Desk remodel. Don’t miss out, shop early.


LINDA’S LINES The Holiday Bazaar that was scheduled for Saturday, November 7 has been cancelled due to the lack of vendors. However there are three other Bazaars on November 7 that you can attend: Catholic Church, the Nazarene Church, and the Lutheran Church in Valley Home. Thank you to the Oakdale Silver Strummers Ukulele group and the Hula Ladies for performing at the Senior Center at the Halloween Lula. Great job! Also a great big THANK YOU for all the volunteers who helped set-up, decorated, served food and cleaned up. Without these volunteers there would not be any of these special events. COLORING BOOKS FOR ADULTS

CareMore CareMore will be at the Senior Center November 2 & 10 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, for all your Medical and CareMore questions.

Adult coloring has become very popular. So popular that not only can you come and use the Senior Center’s coloring books but you can purchase books and color pencils. So come and try it out. They make great Christmas and Birthday Presents.

HEARING SCREENING Monday, November 9th They’re back! Long time hearing aid center, Oakdale Hearing Aid Co.,( now Valley Hearing Aid & Optical), will be back at the senior center on Monday, November 9 from 10:30 am-12:30 pm to provide free hearing screenings. This is just a quick look to determine if you need more extensive hearing testing, or maybe you just have some wax in your ears. The evaluation is free and there is no obligation. Once you have your hearing screened you can check out our partners for the event, the California Telephone Access Program (CTAP). Our friends from CTAP will be on hand with their telephones to help you get a free amplified phone if you need one. The Saint Matthias Anglican Church in Oakdale has started a new ministry for Oakdale seniors in need of transportation to the grocery store, local appointments, or errands. SENIOR SERVICES GREEN BAG PROGRAM For Seniors 60+ - Free 10 lbs. of Fruits and Vegetables 3rd Thursday of each month - 11:30 am - At the Senior Center Program Requirements: Must be at least 60 years old, meet gross income requirement of $20,147 or less annually or $1,679 or less monthly for one person in the home. Only one bag per household. There will be a 15 minute presentation on eating healthy when you receive your bag. Registration forms for this program are available at the Senior Center. PURLS OF WISDOM KNITTING GROUP

The Widowed Person Support Group meets at the Oakdale Senior Center the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. WPS meetings for the newly bereaved and for those who feel in need of counseling are at 6:30 pm, with the General Group at 7:00 pm. At these meetings there are many interesting speakers from the community, travel, video evenings, crafts, and great fellowship.

Tuesdays - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Gather to knit and chat is what this group enjoys doing. Come and join them.

PAGETURNERS BOOK CLUB First Tuesday of Each Month - 1pm

Come and join us the 1st Saturday of each month for breakfast at 9:00 am and dinner on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at different locations.

The group welcomes any interested persons to join them in meeting and discussing literature. Monthly book selections are made by the group and are not confined to any genre.
