Lake Forest, incorporated in 1861, is a quiet residential area located 30 miles north of Chicago along Lake Michigan. With an area of approximately 17 square miles and a population of just over 20,000, Lake Forest is a small community within reach of downtown Chicago. Lake Forest is mostly residential with a mix of magnificent estates and homes of every conceivable size.
