We Have Some Corrections for "Green: More Than A Color" 23-May-2012 Today we received an email from one of our friends. It has come to our attention that there are some factual errors in the article "Green: More Than A Color" (pages 38-43) and we would like to share these corrections with you as well as some additional information. Thank you Rachel Preston Prinz for sharing your insight with us! "On page 40, the Earth house pictured is actually a concrete house: concrete steals 15% of the oxygen from your air and its creation accounts for 5% of the world's carbon dioxide problem. On page 41, it could also be noted that these sealed houses hold in all the germs. So if one person gets sick, everyone gets sick. You can't open the windows either: that's just wrong. On page 42, damage from weather in natural homes and pithouses is MINIMIZED, but can be an issue, depending on design. Same with security. Catching fire is the reason most pithouses were abandoned. So that's just not true. Also, Pueblo houses are NOT waterproof. They need to be remudded every year to stay weathertight-er. On page 43, courtyard houses also were easy to build by pieces; families added one room at a time as they grew. They were also great for security, as you could bring in the farm animals in times of raids, fires, and weather. " If you happen to see any errors or have questions for the editor, please contact us!
