DUFFERIN GROVE SECONDARY SCHOOL

An engaging learning environment which ignites excitement amongst students. A double skin facade of perforated copper panels creates a unique expression and provides comfort in classrooms through the use of natural light, and ventilation. The design incorporates pockets of outdoor gathering space throughout the school’s entirety to encourage outdoor engagement and enable students to feel open and free. This new city school is activated by its urban context through the use of public to private transition zones along Dufferin St. and aims to engage and interest the community and passersby.

Learning Commons

A calm and tranquil space for students to study, relax, and gain access to resources. Outside of school hours the space is open for community use, as well as club meetings and events, such as movie night.
