PARKOUR ATHLETIC CENTRE

Parkour is about freedom of movement. It involves coordination of circulation paths which converge and disperse to form a grid; thus, leading to the expression of the exterior facade. The athletic centre is organized into two blocks; the training facility and service area and is connected by a transparent circulation space. The training facility provides an open triple height space for optimal movement and varying levels of difficulty upon ascension. The platforms and lighting are strategically placed to encourage traceurs to aim for the top level where they are rewarded with a clear view of the adjacent church and street below.

Create a formal connection between the street and Courthouse Square Park through a transparent bridge.

Respect adjacent residential housing by providing minimal glazing on south facade. Frame views to St. James Park & cathedral church.

The monochromatic expression of the beige interior is used to create contrast between the teal ledges & bars to emphasize the potential parkour paths.
