Hiriart Sobre Lías 2010 / fermented in barrels Tinta del País (tempranillo), Garnacha, Verdejo The ‘prime material’ is the free run juice of the 1st quality grapes and the mix of varieties support a great aromatic sensation. The sole use of freerun juice determines the high quality of this wine. Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used to extract aromas and polyphenols. This is done in steel tanks (in-ox). But the actual fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels of 225 LTR. During this fermentation in barrel it is left on its lees while stirring the lees regularly (Batonage). Appearance: Intense strawberry red, clear and brilliant. Nose: Special and Complex aromas. Associations with sweet and sour cherries, floral notes and honey together with an elegant balsamic hints. Palate: Fresh, tasteful, alive, meaty and glycerin. Very aromatic and the wood well integrated. Nose: Very fruity and clean with notes of strawberry and cherry with an underlying base of aromatic herbals. Palate: Pleasantly soft, meaty and wide. Red fruits with a lively acidity that is refreshing and prolonging the after taste. Hiriart Elite Tinta del País (tempranillo), Garnacha, Verdejo This is the Gem of the winery. Only the best grapes from the oldest vines (80y and older) are being used. The ‘prime material’ is the free run juice of the 1st quality grapes and the mix of varieties support a great aromatic sensation. The sole use of free-run juice determines the high quality of this wine. Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used, ideal to extract aromas and polyphenols. Appearance: Intense strawberry red, clear and brilliant. Nose: Pronounced expressions of cherries and dried fruit. Sweet on the nose, intense and clean. Palate: Powerful, meaty, fresh and lively. Hiriart Roble 2009 Tinta del País (tempranillo) Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used, ideal to extract aromas and to stabilize the polyphenols. The limited barrel aging for this wine is only to support the fruit character of the variety. 4 months in used barrels of 225 LTR. of French Oak, American Oak and Central European Oak. Al least 2 months of bottle ageing are needed to let the wine ‘merry’; to become round in aromas and mouth feel. Appearance: Deep cherry red with a purple shade and cardinal hints. Nose: Complex with aromas of red forest fruit twinned with cinnamon, bell pepper and mild toasted Wood. Palate: Mouth filling, tasteful, meaty with a lot of fruit. A tempting bitterness and compensated acidity. A balanced wine, sensual passing the receptors of the mouth and a long aftertaste. Hiriart Crianza Tinta del País (tempranillo) Selected grapes from only the oldest vineyards. Cold pre-fermentation maceration is used, ideal to extract aromas and to stabilize the polyphenols. Experience of the winemaker and modern technics are being combined to make this wine into a well-balanced and exciting Crianza with an own character. 12 to 14 months in new barrels of 225 LTR. in a mix of French Oak, American Oak and Central European Oak. Bottle aging of 6 to 12 months is needed to let the wine ‘merry’ in bottle; rounder in aromas and mouth feel. Appearance: Dark cherry red, clean and tears are shown; Toasted notes Nose: Good intensity with an exquisite partnership between dark fruit and Wood of excellent quality. Palate: Soft entrance through the mouth that finishes in ripe tannins that support the structure. Perfect balance between alcohol and acidity. The finish is wide, rich and long.
