Selecting a Hollowcore Saw that Performs When Stubbe’s Precast, one of Canada’s leading producers of structural and architectural precast concrete and ancillary products, set out to find a multi-angle saw, the Harley, Ontario-based firm relied on a list of precise goals compiled through a series of planning sessions, market analysis, and financial modeling. First and foremost, the saw had to be capable of performing cuts from 0° to 180° directly on the bed. Additionally, it had to be a piece of equipment that offered superior uptime and throughput. The saw would also have to fit within the plant’s existing layout and provide a safe and highly visible working platform. Finally, the new multiangle solution needed to improve on the facility’s current maintenance and operating cost levels. According to Andy Stubbe, President of Stubbe’s Precast, the process of finding a saw that met their strict criteria reflects the company’s vision and its commitment to serving its customers. "We've built our reputation as a market leader on quality products and unconditional service," he says. "It's a non-negotiable commitment to us at Stubbe's, and we worked hard to find the technology that delivered the cost reductions and maximum performance we need to continue strengthening our hollowcore market coverage." After several rounds of technical meetings, efficiency discussions, and performance analysis, Stubbe’s Precast chose the SMA400 360° Multi-Angle Saw. Mark Roth, Stubbe's Plant Manager, says the purchase of Ultra-Span's technology proved to be a wise choice for the company. "We're ecstatic with the performance and versatility of the new Ultra-Span SMA400 360°. It's the one saw that meets all of our hollowcore needs. Through our collaborative approach we acquired exactly what we needed"

Ultra-Span’s lead engineer on the project, says the collaboration between the two companies ultimately delivered a saw that solved all the issues related to the project. "As a result of our work together and valuable input from Stubbes’ team, we were able to help our customer achieve superior performance, lower operating and maintenance costs, higher uptime and less waste," Mr. Alfonso says. "In the end, our objective is to help our customers deliver on their efficiency goals.” At the heart of the SMA 400-360° is an integrated and straightforward technology that requires only a single operator to control the equipment. This minimized labor requirement coupled with superior autonomy is just one benefit of the saw that contributes to overall profitability, notes Mr. Alfonso. "It is a solution developed with performance maximization in mind," he says. "Our mission is to deliver the highest return on investment for precast producers by providing superior technology."

Low Cost, High Performance Ultra-Span's proven technology and reliability make it an unmatched supplier of hollowcore extruders, concrete saws, casting pallets, and a wide range of other precast equipment. “The firm has over 50 years of measurable results, and it is these outcomes that have made Ultra-Span the preferred choice for producers who are setting new standards for performance and efficiency”, notes Ultra-Span’s President and CEO, Alain Valdes. One of these high-performance producers is Stubbe’s Precast, and Plant Manager Mark Roth says partnering with Ultra-Span for more than a decade has provided Stubbe’s with the equipment and support to manufacture the highest quality and cost efficient precast hollowcore slabs. "With their technology, we're able to produce top

quality products that meet our customers' expectations,” Mr. Roth remarks. The operational reliability and low maintenance costs of Ultra-Span's technologies, including the SMA-400 360° Multi-Angle Saw, helps Stubbe's Precast remain cost competitive in one of the North America's toughest markets. By installing Ultra-Span’s solution, Stubbe’s doubled its production throughput and eliminated bottlenecks, another critical step in setting higher levels in the performance arena. 왎
