What is a Team Lead

And Why Is It Important?

The Team Lead Is:

• A Vision Caster

• A Team Builder

• A Relationship Manager

A Vision Caster

Dads Club believes that every child deserves to be loved well. We know that for too many children, that is not their reality.

A Team Builder

As Dads, we have one thing in common, we love our children! Dads Club offers some simple tools to help Dads love their children well. Building a Community of Dads around that “Big Idea” requires Leadership and a Team to help carry the message to each Dad in the Community.

A Relationship Manager

Dads learn best from real life. Helping the Dads in a Community of Dads know one another provides that real-life opportunity for answers that connect with where they are.

• Read2Win - An award-winning program, started in Dallas/Fort Worth by a coalition of churches and supported by volunteers from their congregations. Theprimary emphasis is on ensuring that all 1st grade students arereading at gradelevel by theend of 1st grade.

• Parent University - Support in design, promotion and delivery of workshops and classesin topics of interest to parents.

• Dads Club - A family and community engagement model, the purpose of which is to highlight theimportanceto schools of Men and Women of being present and being involved. Regularly occurring breakfasts offer theopportunity for men and women to be present on campus with their children in a programdesigned to reinforce that connection. Recognizing that how a dad,mom or parent figure makes that connection differs as children getolder, theprogramis different for EarlyLearning, Elementary, Middle and High School environments. Although the method may vary, the importance of a strongrelationship isnoless importantin High School than in Elementary School.

• Donuts with Dad - Generally a January event, Donuts with Dad is a fun event designed to reestablish themomentum for theDads Club program.

• Dads Reading Team - Dads volunteering to read in theclassroom to students. Typically a weekly or monthly commitment for about 45 minutes.

• Climate and Culture - Typically programs thatfocus attention on positive outcomes around attendanceand behavior. Includes opportunities to bepresenton campus as monitors.

• Lunch Pals - A simple yet powerful programthat allows young scholars to spend quality timewith a caring adult. Our goal is to provide qualified volunteers who are willingto make a difference in the life of a young person.

• Learning Academy - Through collaboration with qualified before and after school centers, provide qualified and vetted volunteers to assist in theeducation of students in attendance.

• Millionaire’s Club - A Middle School programto work with Principal-designated rising 6th graders. By using principles of money and finance, the Millionaire’s Club canreplace negative influences with positive, life changing attitudes, behaviors and knowledge.

Volunteers for these programs come from our schools themselves, from churches, businesses and the local community. As needed, we come alongside strategic partners to equip, engage and encourage volunteers.
