Brackley Town has continued to enjoy another wonderful start to the Skrill Conference North season with an unbeaten run that has kept the team in the top three all season so far. After last season’s 6-1 rout away at Harrogate Town the team returned and avenged that painful defeat with a tight 1-0 win. The atmosphere on the team bus driving back down the M1 that evening was in stark contrast to that of a year ago! In each of the last two years Saints have not progressed in the FA Cup, falling to lower league teams in the very early rounds. Determined to set this right

this year the team beat Gresley AFC and then high-flying Boston United to progress to the final qualifying round where victory would see the club enter the first round proper of this famous cup competition for only the second time in the club’s long history. As this goes to print both the opponents in the next round and the outcome of that tie are unknown. With really tough matches coming up in November and the possible disruptions of an extended run in the FA Cup and possibly the FA Trophy to contend with manager Jon Brady will be marshalling his whole squad to get through this very busy period still in good shape. It would be no surprise should the squad be strengthened by the addition of at least one further player. A particular match to look out for is at home at St James Park on Saturday 23 November against current Skrill Conference North table toppers Hednesford Town.
