Batavus ​bikes​ review

Batavus is one of the Netherlands' oldest and most famous bicycle brands. The company was founded in 1904 by Andries Gaastra and his wife Dientje. The name was then still 'Rijwiel- en Motorenfabriek A. Gaastra', which was later changed to Batavus. In the beginning, alarm clocks and sewing machines were also produced, but after some time the focus was on the import of bicycles from the German brand Presto. Initially, the company also made motorcycles, including the Batavus Whippet is a well-known moped from the Batavus factory. In 1984 Batavus no longer supplied mopeds in the Netherlands, in Germany the mopeds were still sold. In 1986 Batavus went bankrupt and Atag Cycle Group took over the
