Cheap used bicycle parts
A bicycle consists of so many bicycle parts that you can write a separate article for each part, yet we try to make a small overview with information about the most important bike parts and where you can buy them quickly and cheaply online. We will discuss, among other things, tips on buying the relevant bicycle component and, if relevant, discussing the maintenance or repair of the bicycle component. We also refer to the more extensive articles that we have already written about certain bicycle parts. Groups There are different groups of bicycle parts in best bike us. A group is a set of matching bicycle parts. Among other things,
the sprockets, brakes, derailleurs, chain and cassette belong to a certain group. Depending on the manufacturer, which bicycle parts belong to a certain group, many bikes are supplied without the pedals, for example, because this is a bicycle component that many people want to have a choice for. In general, a group consists of at least the bicycle parts for drive and brakes. A group can consist of (part of) the following bicycle parts: hubs, chain, pedals, brakes, brake levers, headset, crankset, bottom bracket, derailleurs, cassette, adjusters, seatpost and front fork (for mountain bikes). Also the cables are usually included when ordering a group.Shimano and Campagnolo . The nice thing about the groups is that you can give your bike a nice upgrade or you can choose to assemble a bike from the frame yourself. Derailleur The derailleur ensures that you can put your bike in a different gear. The derailleur turns the bicycle chain from one sprocket to the other sprocket so that the bike's resistance becomes heavier or lighter. On most bikes there is a front and rear derailleur. They are operated with an accelerator which is placed on the handlebars. Most bicycles contain a derailleur from Shimano , Campagnolo or SRAM Rear derailleur The rear derailleur is located near the cassette (sprocket) on the rear wheel of the bicycle. The rear derailleur is equipped with 2 sprockets over which the chain is guided. The wheels are pushed backwards by means of a spring mechanism, so that the chain is constantly under tension when selecting a combination. The function of the rear derailleur is to leave
enough tension on the chain if it changes the sprocket, a large sprocket needs more chain than a small sprocket. Front derailleur The front derailleur guides the chain of the chainrings mounted on the bottom bracket. He does not put tension on the chain, because that is what the rear derailleur is for. It is therefore only a guide bracket for the front chainrings. Adjust derailleur It is important that the derailleur is properly adjusted. If it fails, the chain will not run straight over the chain wheels and you will hear the familiar rattling. This will lead to less smooth pedaling and greater wear on your bicycle parts. The chain can also touch the chain if it is adjusted incorrectly. Number of gears Has a bike for a cassette with three sprockets and behind a cassette with seven sprockets, then the bike has a total of 21 gears. This means that there are 21 possible combinations. In practice you will notice that this is not the case, because not every combination is usable. Sometimes the chain runs too crooked with a combination, so cycling is not possible and it will rattle. Always make sure that you choose a combination that does fine cycling and does not lead to rattling, this prevents wear of the chain and sprockets. Cables You will encounter the following cables on a bicycle: ● Brake cable ● Derailleur cable
● Di2 cable Important for the use of these cables on your road bike, mtb bike or touring bike is that you have the right bike tools to put them on your bike. Cables for the road bike and mountain bike are available at bestbikeus.com & Wiggle Cassette The cassette on your bike is also called pinion. It is the collective name for sprockets that are mounted on the rear wheel. The more sprockets a cassette has, the more gears a bicycle has. The number of sprockets on a cassette is often referred to by the word 'speed'. For example, a cassette with 8 sprockets is called an 8-speed cassette. The maximum is currently an 11-speed cassette. Cassettes are available at Wiggle Bicycle chain A bicycle chain ensures that the forces developed via the pedal are transferred to the rear wheel via the chain wheels. You have chains in different widths, for example a bicycle chain for a road bike is thinner than that for a cargo bike. The stitch is half a inch on most chains. With the help of a chain punch it is possible to bring a chain to the correct length. Make sure the chain is smeared with a regularity, this prevents the chain for extra resistance and less smoothly over the chain runs. Do not
lubricate your chain just before cycling, so dust and sand will stick to the chain more quickly. Crankset and chainring A crankset, also called stool in Dutch, is the connection between the bottom bracket and the pedal of a bicycle. The cranks and the two or three chainrings mounted on the crank are collectively called the 'crankset'. The chainrings are removable and replaceable to, for example, adjust the acceleration capacity or replace it. The crankset, in combination with the crankshaft, forms the drive system of the bicycle.
Note: Absolute minimum for a bicycle used even to a small extent, however, We should be bike gear review o nce every year because it’s good for everyone.
When replacing a crankset you look at the group that is mounted on your bike, then order a crankset of the same group. Trapas The bottom bracket is the part on which the crankset is mounted. The bottom bracket itself is mounted in the bracket of the frame. Bicycle pedals for under desk Everyone knows the ordinary bike pedals , usually with a reflector on the sides so that you are clearly visible. The average hobby cyclist will therefore put few demands on a pedal. For the cyclist and MTBer this is different, because they have the choice of many different pedals. The cyclist generally chooses between Look, SPD-SL and Time bike pedals and mounts the corresponding cleats on his cycling shoes . Most MTB people opt for Shimano SPD, but also have the choice of MTB pedals from LOOK, Mavic, Time and Crank Brothers. For the touring cyclist, there are also special bicycle pedals with SPD binding on one side and a flat pedal on the other side of the pedal, ideal if you also ride on bikes with shoes without cleats. Brakes and brake pads Good brakes are essential for getting on the road safely. Whether you're cycling on a touring bike, city bike, road bike or mountain bike, the brakes guarantee your safety. Correct adjustment of your brakes and the timely replacement of worn brake pads also contributes to your safety on the bike. If you do not do this, your rims can be damaged or your brake will not work properly under normal circumstances and probably very
bad when it rains. There are different types of brakes for sale, so look in advance what kind of brakes you have on your bike and make sure you buy the same brake pads if you want to replace them. Also read our article about replacing brake pads . Front fork Fasten the front wheel in the front fork. Together with the headset it is of great influence on the driving of the bicycle. Most mountain bikes have a front fork with suspension, so you do not notice much of the different surfaces that you encounter with mountain biking. A front fork therefore has a big influence on the comfort of the mountain bike. Also on many hybrid bikes for extra comfort suspension in the front fork. Handlebar and stem The steering wheel obviously has the greatest influence on the steering convenience of your bike. The choice for which handlebar suits you is of course personal, in general it applies that a narrow handlebar fits someone with a small posture and a slightly wider handlebar with someone with a wider upper body. For racing cyclists and mtb drivers too, an appropriate handlebars and the correct length of handlebars can improve your posture on the bike. A correct posture on the bike helps prevent injuries. Saddle A bicycle saddle can largely determine the comfort on the bicycle, especially during long bike rides. With a bad bicycle saddle you will soon suffer from saddle pain, it is also one of the most important bicycle parts. Nevertheless, the choice for a saddle is very personal, because one person needs a hard and
wide saddle more, while the other opts for a soft and narrow saddle. It is important in any case to opt for a men's or ladies' saddle, since the anatomy is very different in terms of the seat of a man and a woman. Bicycle wheel The wheels make contact with the road surface and therefore have a major influence on the riding behavior of the bicycle. With the purchase of a new wheel set you can upgrade your bike to a higher level in a beautiful way. For example, a racing bike looks tighter with a set of carbon wheels instead of worn rims. The choice of a wheel set depends on several factors, so you have the choice of high or low rims, carbon bicycle wheels or aluminum bicycle wheels and wire wheels or tube wheels. Shimano, Mavic, Fast Forward, Zipp and Easton make popular wheel sets that get good reviews. Also read the article about purchasing a new wheel set for the racing bike. Bicycle tire You will soon no longer see the trees through the forest if you want to buy a bicycle tire. Online you can choose from a wide range of different bicycle tires. For example, you have bicycle tires for the 'normal' bike, road bike, mountain bike, cyclocross bike. But there are also big differences between these bicycle tires, for example there are tires for the racing bike with as little profile as possible, so that you have less rolling resistance, but also tires that focus on the prevention of punctures. Of course it is a personal choice, where you place your priorities.
When purchasing inner tubes for your bike, the size is particularly important. If you buy too large a tire, it will double the rim and you will sooner or later be startled by a blowout. Finally you can still opt for tubes. Tubes form an inner and outer band. Tubes are especially popular among the fanatical cyclists who prefer the tubes over an inner and outer tire because of the better roadholding and finer driving convenience. For hobby cyclists, tubes do not make much sense, because with a flat tire you can not change tires quickly. The tube has to be stuck with tubelijn around the band and then cure for a couple of hours, not optimal so during a training trip.
