Creative in Holt will be stocking plantbased organic skincare brand Thirns from 5 September. On launch day, the brand’s founder Olga Brennand, pictured, will be in the shop to share her expertise as well as offer a limited number of mini facials, plus you’ll be able to try the product line. ‘It’s a lovely natural brand, with an emphasis on botanical, skinboosting ingredients,’ says Paul. @beautybypaulwilkinscreative
Facial recognition
Skincare aesthetician Laura Marfleet, who has been a facialist for 12 years and trained in London with skincare expert Nichola Joss, now offers bespoke facial and skin treatments at Aura 37 in Burnham Market. My two-hour bespoke treatment (£180) starts with an indepth consultation. Laura, who is also trained in facial reflexology, asks whether I’d like the treatment to be more relaxing or resultsoriented? I say the latter and we talk about the mild, rosacea breakout I have across my cheeks before I climb onto the huge, heated treatment bed.
4 things we’ve tried & loved
1 Green People Scent Free Mineral Sun Cream SPF30
This suncare-skincare hybrid not only protects from UVA/UVB, it isn’t tacky when applied; instead, the ingredients (chamomile, aloe vera) leave my skin soothed and hydrated, just like a moisturiser. £30, www.greenpeople.co.uk
2
Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil
Non-greasy when spritzed onto either dry or damp locks, this water-resistant UV spray is a summer essential, protecting hair from the sun and salty sea, and giving it a moisture boost. £32, www.no19.salon
3 Gone Crabbing Wakey Wakey Rise n’ Shine Shower Gel
4
Bamford Woodland Moss Gel-Cream
Combining notes of patchouli, sage, angelica and rose, this cooling gel is lovely for summer. Quickly absorbed, it leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated, and works wonders on my dry elbows! £47, www.joyfulliving.co.uk

cause of my breakouts.
Extractions next, then a purifying clay mask to calm the skin, followed by a cooling hydration mask with an LED light mask on top to stimulate collagen and reduce inflammation. As I lie there, Laura gives me an incredible scalp massage; next she applies a serum, then it’s a hydra-firm cream, eye cream and an SPF.
My dry, delicate skin was craving some TLC and that’s certainly what it got. I come away with a soothed, dewier complexion, and a good understanding of my skin issues, their causes and possible cures.
