GOOD NEWS FOR GOOD PEOPLE after a first quarter with doubledigit growth in each of the main economic indicators we are about to close the first half and to analyze the prospects for the end of the year. The macroeconomic outlook is having its ups and downs and this is why we have decided to give a further decisive boost to growth in countries which are strategic and significant to our business. I am referring to France and China. In France we have acquired IREC, one of the leading companies in the transalpine market as for revenues and reliability, with the intention of further implementing its revenues and margins. France is today, after Italy, the second largest market for sales of our group.

In addition to numerous new and confirmed orders, the preparatory activities on EXPO 2015 and the Louvre project are successfully going on. Our broad vision and intent to grow know no borders. For this reason, we continue to be committed to recruit new highquality resources , while paying attention to the already existing ones. The Best Union Group is enjoying their new role as ticketing system partner for the Louvre Museum!

The Louvre is using Best Union’s BOS ticketing and access control system to handle onsite sales, web sales and call center sales of tickets to the Louvre’s museum, the auditorium and the Museum de la Croix. Using a phased-in approach, the Best Union team first installed BOS to enable the Louvre to perform back office sales. After a successful back-office launch, the highly customized B O S ticketing system w a s implemented at the ticketing stations at the worldfamous Pyramid. And BOS will be rolled out to the rest of the Louvre complex very soon!

ASIAN ATTRACTIONS EXPO 2014

The Asian Attractions Expo 2014 was held the 18th to 20th of June at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, China, and OmniTicket Network’s team from Asia was onsite and exhibiting in Booth #319.

Established in 1920, the Roosevelt Park Zoo "strives to provide education, experiences, and knowledge promoting wildlife understanding, conser vation, and an intrinsic, personal connection with the natural world." The Zoo is home to many wonderful animals, such as the grey wolf, and has a long and storied history of survival, still going strong after two major floods over the years, in 1969 and again in 2011, that forced the evacuation of every bird and animal to temporary housing!

The exhibition curated by Germano Celant explores the relationship between art and sound and the way it has developed from the 16th century to the present day, examining the iconic aspects of musical instruments, the role of the artist-musician, and the areas in which the visual arts and music have come together. The exhibition sets out to investigate the relationship of symmetry and ambivalence that exists between works of art and sound objects. The intention is to offer a reinterpretation of the musical instrument that turns into a sculptural-visual entity and of the artworks that produce sound, in a continual encroachment and inversion of fields.

ART OR SOUND The exhibition comprises more than 180 artifacts: clocks and carillons, automata and musical machines, paintings and scores, sculptures and readymades, together with decorated, assembled, imaginary and silent musical instruments. The visitor, observing and listening to the works on display, is invited to identify the variety of ways through which art and sound have embarked on the same journey or become intertwined. The exhibition is organized in order to offer the viewer a broader engagement than that provided by the categorical perception of the artwork dictated by the eye, thus giving both the acoustic and visual elements equal prominence. The aim is to explore the possibilities of a multisensory approach to appreciating exhibits, where the act of seeing is accompanied by those of hearing, touching, smelling and tasting, enriching the understanding of art through all our senses. A unique event, also possible thanks to the contribution of the Best Union Group, long-time partner of Venetian cultural institutions. EUTROPIA - L’ALTRA CITTÀ “When he enters the territory of which Eutropia is the capital, the traveler sees not one city but many, of equal size and not unlike one another, scattered over a vast, rolling plateau”. So Italo Calvino described the city of Eutropia, a city made of many cities. Beginning June 6, 2014 Campo Boario in Rome hosts the exhibition Eutropia - L'ALTRA CITTÀ, a three-month series of concerts, cinema, DJ-sets and gastronomic events.

Various performances will include folk music (Eugenio Bennato) to reggae (Sud Sound System, Alpha Blondy, 99 Posse), to the sounds of Balkan Goran Bregovic to the most important Italian performers (Vinicio Capossela, Marlene Kuntz, Baustelle, Frankie hi-nrg, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and many others). The cinema will present the latest season’s best films, as well as special events with important guests. Starting at midnight the town turns into a huge disco under the stars. EUTROPIA - L’ALTRA CITTÀ

Eutropia - L'ALTRA CITTÀ is a city within a city, a place of exchange, just as Italo Calvino had imagined it in his "Invisible Cities". The project enhances Testaccio, one of the "more Roman" areas of the city, which is rich in history and already the scene of many social and cultural initiatives.


The Palazzo Cini Gallery is a refined example of a museum house. Created in 1984, it contains a valuable collection of historic art works that belonged to a leading 20th-century Italian collector: the industrialist and philanthropist Vittorio Cini (1885 – 1977).

THE REOPENING OF THE PALAZZO CINI GALLERY To mark the 30th anniversary of the first opening, the gallery – in the renovated palazzo with a restyled layout – has been reopened by the Giorgio Cini Foundation in collaboration with Assicurazioni Generali. The original galler y was established thanks to a donation b y Ya n a C i n i A l l i a t a d i Montereale. In 1981 she presented the Foundation with part of her father’s collections and some rooms on the piano nobile of the palace, which he had acquired in 1919 as a residence on the Grand Canal. His daughter’s gift thus preserved the vital bond between the collection and the house.

The donation consists of 13th- to 16th-century Tuscan paintings, some fine sculptures and items of decorative arts, such as the outstanding group of Renaissance enamelled copper objects made by a Venetian manufactory, a group of Gothic ivories and the elegant Cozzi porcelain table service, laid out in the Neo-Rococo oval room, designed by Tomaso Buzzi. In 1989 an extraordinary collection of Ferrarese Renaissance paintings was added to the initial collection, courtesy of the Cini Guglielmi di Vulci heirs. The exhibition brings together 120 works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera and tells the secrets links that united both in their art and life two artists so profoundly different.
