Firepoint Grill: More than just a meal, it's an experience you’ll want to relive over and over again

George Paxos, owner of Firepoint Grill, finds success in focusing on the details.

You could say that George has lived out the classic American success story. He moved to the United States from Greece as a young child after the death of his father and quickly started working to support his family. From newspaper delivery routes to cooking in restaurants, he started small. He worked his way up in multiple fields, and fell in love with working in a kitchen. At the young age of 15, Paxos knew that he wanted to open his own restaurants someday.

By the age of 20, Paxos had done just that. In 1980, he opened the Candlelight Inn in Bethlehem, PA, a location that is still in operation today (rebranded as blue grillhouse). blue is one of five successful Paxos Restaurants currently under George’s ownership, including Firepoint Grill in Newtown Square, which opened in late 2016.

The goal at all of our restaurants is threefold,” says Paxos, “to provide our guests with great food, great service, and an enjoyable atmosphere.”

This approach has resulted in five unique restaurant concepts with elegantly designed interiors, signature menus serving only the freshest ingredients, and impeccable service from friendly staff.

At Firepoint, the newest of the Paxos Restaurants, guests can order off a large menu of wood-fired items, including handmade pizza, free range organic rotisserie chicken and grilled dishes. Starters and salads are equally memorable, as is a classically inspired cocktail menu and rotating draft beer list. The spacious restaurant interior is modern with industrial touches, and a seasonal outdoor patio provides a perfect ambiance for summer dining.

Paxos is proud to have created a culture that not only impresses guests, but also supports a hard-working staff. Paxos Restaurants has been a recipient of the Morning Call’s “Top Workplace” award every year since 2015, and Paxos himself is quick to acknowledge the importance of teamwork among staff members.

Having worked as a dishwasher, a chef, a manager, and everything in between, Paxos knows that every member of a restaurant team needs to give 100%, 100% of the time.
