Celebrating International Nurses Day Welcome The National Leadership and Innovation Centre, Office of the Nursing and Midwifery Services, Health Service Executive is delighted to extend a warm welcome to all nurses and midwives joining us on the 12th May in Dublin Castle to celebrate International Nurses Day. The theme of the summit is People Purpose Passion, to celebrate how every day, nurses and midwives resolve emerging issues, embrace new technologies and accept ever-changing roles. You lead the way for patients, families,’ colleagues and organisations. Leading international and national speakers will provide examples and insights into the context of leadership, healthcare improvement, innovation and well being. Key Note Speakers Prof. Mary Jo Kreitzer PhD, RN, FAAN, is the founder and director of the Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota, United States. She has more than 40 years of leadership and expertise in healthcare. In addition to her roles as nurse, teacher, healthcare administrator and researcher, she is also an internationally recognized pioneer and innovator in the field of integrative health and wellbeing. Ms. Leslee Thompson is President and CEO of Kingston General Hospital (KGH), Ontario, Canada and an assistant professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. Her 25-year healthcare career has spanned both the public and private sectors. She has held senior executive positions in leading organizations such as the University Health Network, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Cancer Care Ontario and Capital Health (Alberta).
